Brooklyn offered you a first rounder (currently projected as somewhere in the top five) for Jackson alone, which should be as good, if not better than the future Pittsburgh first rounder you'd get in this deal (it all depends on the strength of the draft classes and whether Pittsburgh is a better team next year which would move their pick down in that future draft). The remainder of this deal offers a late second rounder (pratically a third round pick), plus a useless veteran, plus Holly, who is unlikely to become anything special.

Thus, I don't think this deal is as good for you as is the Brooklyn offer. If you wanted, you could probably move Brock for a better second round pick at a later time.

Thus, I think the real question for you is whether you are willing to deal Jackson, who is a number four/number five starter on a contending team (and likely to decline further in the future) for a projected top five pick? If you are rebuilding, I think that is a good deal for you...though it all depends on the strength of the draft class.

Let us know what you decide.
