He needs to add another pair of defendants: Josh's parents, for doing such a pathetic job of raising him.

Unbelievable. All you're doing is keeping in the news what a negligent asshole your son was, so good work.

Its always good to include the guy who's car stalled in a lawsuit from the guy who smashed into it.

This is hopefully just an exercise he must go through as executor of his son's estate, distasteful as it is.

Suing the bar that sold him the drinks is one thing. But adding the tow truck driver and the driver of the car that Hancock's irresponsible son slammed into? That's just a guy looking to point the finger at someone else.

here's the theory. I really can't imagine this guy thinks he's going to win a lawsuit against the other stranded motorist. Or he's really stupid. All this does is bring it up again and make them look like fools. Hopefully, he realizes that and still feels like he must protect the estate.

If that's the case, then he really owes it to the memory of his son to say so. Sit down with a reporter, someone trustworthy, and lay it out. People would understand.

Agreed - and maybe that's the plan at some point. Maybe it would be a problem if he declared that his intent before the action? "I'm really just doing this as a formality, please throw it out." Just guessing here.
