I wouldn't trade Franco, 4-for-1, much less include Woods in the deal.
Gross is a mediocre pitcher who can mentor a little. Mohardt is a worthless piece of crap. Williams is nearly peaked out as a less than average pitcher. At 27, he still has his 28th birthday and a leadership grade to come, and with his ratings, if he pops A+ leadership, he could be a decent mentor. Hutson is a great player who is going to start declining this year.
We all want to win a WS or two, then get great young players for our aging veterans when it's time to start rebuilding. But you need to let someone else pay that price. Franco still has two years of decent improvements left, and as you know he can start and get you 200+ innings a year; and with your wealth of SP, he can also go back and be a 90-game, 125 IP #1 guy out of the pen, on a championship caliber team.
Just because you have the pitching depth to make this deal doesn't mean you should. Stick with what you've got and when you're ready to move into contention, if you still need a stick in the middle of the order, you can trade one of those young pitchers for more than a 34-year old getting ready to decline...even if he is the reigning MVP.
