Why would you do this deal?

You are not competing, so 4 valuable assets you are giving up just for a 31 yr old pitcher, however good he is.

MacFayden will probably be just as good, plus a power hitting outfielder plus 2 first rounders. ???

Someone else took the deal. You were correct not to take that deal...He could not have made you a playoff team.
