Not sure if I can stay in contention with/without him. I could always move Fox to 2B or bring someone up from the minors.

The primary issue is the direction of the team. Either you hold onto Babington, try to upgrade a little, and see if you can beat Baltimore next season given the extensive offseason declines and potential retires his team has coming... or you throw in the towel to rebuild, and in that case I'd be looking to move a lot more than 'just' Babington. And if you're heading into the rebuild camp, I'd probably be checking to see if you can get more useful stuff for a package than by dealing Babington off alone.

At face value, I think this deal is a tiny bit light but reasonable for you, and it looks like you should have the CP capacity to develop several picks.The primary issue is the direction of the team.
