I need your help with this trade offer. This is a Dynasty League

I have been offered:

Royal Tenebaum
1976 Draft Pick Rd 4(BOS)

I would give up:

Here is a link to the other owner's depth chart

Thanks for the help.

In my opinion, this trade is nothing more than an exchange of spare parts.

Mathers is of no use, Tenebaum has little value and a 4th round pick should be worthless. Burrell may get lucky and be a useful player.

On the other hand Wiegahus doesn't have much value and Takashi may get lucky and be a useful (but probably not good) option out of the pen.

I'm not sure that I would do the trade but I do know that I would probably give Takashi's innings to Harris. I think he has more upside even with his C control. Takashi doesn't figure to be anything but a lesser copy of Abbott. Harris' age gives him an outside chance to be more useful.

I think I would pass but since all the players do seem to be "spare parts" I don't see why I would pass.

I kind of think of all the players involved Burrell has the most chance to be worth something as a 4th outfielder type. For that reason I'd take it but as has been said its relatively minor

I went ahead and took the deal...

He substituted LeDouche for Tenebaum and the 4th rounder. Am I wrong to think that if I get LoDouche enough games & innings during these next five seasons (with his best major league conversion rates ahead), he has a shot at A-/B or maybe even A/B?

I calculate the potential of 47 improvements over the next five years (assuming 30 ICs this season and 50 ICs during each of the next four seasons while converting at the standard rates for his OS age). If the split is 16 to Vel, 24 to Con and 7 to End, that would make him A/B with B End. I know that's a best case scenario, but it also assumes he is at the bottom of B+/C right now. In any case, I think it was worth doing the deal considering the players I traded were both OS26.

I took Big Mac's advice and added Harris to the bullpen. Now I just have to figure how to rotate eight starters (Maine, Abbott, Heredia, Perez, Rich, LeDouche, and Heilman...plus Peterson for mentoring) through five rotation spots. That's going to be a challenge.

Thanks so much for the advice! I agree with Bart that the trade was pretty minor, but I think my team is slightly better positioned for upside in the future. I figure if I can make enough minor improvements, my team will be better off four years down the road.

Thanks Again!

I would see if I could move a couple of the 8 starters, that is probably too many to develop. See if you can trade a couple for a better one or stud hitters or maybe draft picks a couple years ahead.
