Because not all teams are built equally, different teams are more attractive than others and the process reflects this. All teams are going to be discounted. Today, the price is $16 for 2 seasons of play. Every few days, we will lower that price for any teams remaining, until all teams are taken. We will update this thread each time the price changes.
Here are the teams that are currently available. Teams that don't have a Replacement Owner listed are available.
This list is up-to-the-minute automatically updated in terms of which teams have not yet been taken.

If you are interested in taking over one of these teams, please follow these instructions:
1) Create a new screen name and log in as that screen name, or log in as a screen name that does NOT already have a team. Don't ignore this step!!!

Make sure you don't signup for a team! You'll do that in step 3 below. Just signup for a username.
2) Go to this link to purchase the 2 seasons of play:

3) Return to this link after you have paid to claim the team you want:

We've changed how Expansion teams work. We no longer have Expansion dispersal drafts, you will simply assume control of the team you reserve. You will assume control of that team [color=red]after the season and playoffs are complete.[/color]
Once you have claimed an Expansion team, your team will be temporarilly placed in a league called Expansion Teams. Your team will remain here until around January 13th - at which time you will be moved into the proper league. Check back towards the end of the season for the Official Sim Dynasty schedule thread in Latest News, this will have the exact date.

Will new owners also inherit the draft position of the team they buy? Or does the old formula that averaged the position of all new teams still apply?

They inherit the team and it's draft position, we don't do Expansion drafts anymore for Dynasty leagues.Tyson

You can purchase additional credits after you signup for more seasons - to get started it is for 2 seasons.Tyson

Tyson, I have a guy who works with me that wants the Baltimore team in my Paul Waner League but I can't find them on either the discounted dynasty team or abandoned team pages. Where can we find them so he can take over that franchise? Thank Rick

Tyson, this is Scooter121769, the old owner of Philly in PWL, I wanted out and you let me out, now I want back in, and I'm told Baltimore is open, so if possible, let me back in.Had a chat with owners in PWL this morning, and they not only don't mind, but wish I could be back

Tyson - today I paid for a team via PayPal. I paid $16.00 for two seasons. But I not been able to proceed to "Step Three" to claim the team that I want. That team is Detroit in the Tim Raines league.Can you assign that team to me?

I know there is no more Expansion Draft, but will those of us taking on teams participate in the offseason amateur draft? If so, how will that work (i.e. when will we be able to rank players, be notified of the draft date, etc.)?Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I am just finishing up my first few single-season leagues and have signed up for two of these discounted teams.

Yes, you will take place in the Amateur Draft. See the schedule for the dates. You'll have at least 1-2 days to rank players.Tyson

We have several Dynasty league teams that have been abandoned. These teams may or may not have made future draft pick trades. The cost of these teams is $12 for 2 seasons of play, you will take over the teams at the end of the current season and get to manage them for 2 full seasons. We're going to use the Expansion team process for these teams, so the only real difference is that you might have more or less draft picks than usual.Tyson
