"You gotta believe" Baby Bugs dominate Baltimore again 8-3 for seven wins in a row!

The game was a hard fought pitchers duel between Tolman of Baltimore and rookie right hander Oral Stelmaszek, just called up to take the start for the recently traded Dave Hoskins.
Nothing across untill the Charms 4th when Oral hangs a breaking ball and Geo. Smith loses it! 1-0 Baltimore.
It remains that way until th 6th when Tolman walks the pitcher Stelmazek,(a no-no) and young Henry Schilling singles. The call goes to the charms pen and Joe Taylor comes on in relief of Tolman. The pesky veteran Joe Grilli greets Taylor with a base knock scoring Stelmaszek to knot the score at 1-1. Taylor gets the dangerous Hamelin to pop up, but walks Combs to load the bases and gives a free pass to Molitor to score Schilling. 2-1 Spides :P. Catcher Hal Naragon singles to score the speedy Grilli and further un-nerve Taylor who walks Mike Adams to force in another run.:o.Baltimore has seen enough of Taylor and the hard throwing Art Reilly comes on to fight the fire. He tries to be careful to rookie first baseman Ron Wear, as he is just up from the minors and reported in in time to start todays game. The kid is patient and refuses to swing at Reillys array of junk and draws a walk on a full count pitch to get credit for his first big league rbi as Molitor scores.:). Stelmazek hits a ground ball to force Naragon at home and Schilling grounds out to end the inning. 5-1 Cleveland.;)
In the Charms 7th, Joe Donahue works Stelmaszek for a free pass but Oral fans Camilo Miller on a letter high heater.:P. Big George Smith works Stelmazek to a full count and Oral decides to show him more heat. But the notorious guess hitter Smitty is setting fast ball all the way and belts the pitch out of sight with Joe Donahue scoring in front of him. 5-3 Cleveland. The day is done for Stelmaszek and George Roa comes on to retire the Charms.
In the Spiders eighth with one out rookie first baseman Ronnie Wear ( just picked up in a trade with Boston) blasts his 1st ( and hopefully the start of many) major league home run to make it 6-3 Spides. Chuck Mckee pinch hits for Roa and grounds out but Henry Schilling singles and the "immortal" Joe Grilli brings him around with a double of the wall. 7-3 Good guys!
Still not satisfied, Carl (the truth) Hamelin doubles home Grilli to make it 8-3 Spiders!
In the Baltimore 9th Art Hotteman makes an appearance to close it out. Shuba grounds out but Donahe singles. Houtteman cowboys up however, and induces Camilo Miller to hit into a game ending 1-6-3 twin killing and its seven wins in a row and nine of ten for the red hot Spiders. who certainly must feel good about the possibility of a sweep with Ace Stevie Gromick going to the mound tomorrow. Since I have been re-instated to enter the clubhouse after apologizing for writing an article about Mgr Luv Two bunts ex old lady, the former porn star,:o, I can tell you it was crazy, high fives all around and the guys kidding the baby faced Ronnie Wear about the possibility of getting carded when he bought the beers to celebrate his first round tripper in the bigs! Mr Luvvy Twobunts could only say: It don'nt get any better than this! Like I told the kid before he came up 90% of this game is mental, the other half is luck!!;).
