Brooklyn, N.Y.-Jim Bunning (9-4) pitched the first no-hitter of his career on June 17, 1953 against the Cincinnati Reds.
Bunning has now recorded 3 shutouts this season as his 2.51 ERA and 0.95 WHiP have led the Dodgers to a league low team ERA of 3.26.
Bunning walked 3 and struck out 9 en route to his historic game.
Brooklyn won the game with a 2-RBI double in the bottom of the 7th from Hack McNeal, the Dodgers' veteren utility outfielder.
Since acquiring Howie Lillard (6-9) from Boston 5 days ago, Brooklyn's starters have pitched 3 shutouts in 4 games.
The Dodgers remain in 2nd place in the N.L.
