Official Rules
- Voting is open to all onwers of the GVHL past and present.
- A player is eligible for nomination immediately after he retires. There will be no cooling off period following a player's retirement.
- No minimum number of seasons played requirement for nomination to the HOF. We will not penalize the founding players of our league for potentially shorter careers.
- Voters must vote either "Yes" or "No" for every player on the ballot but the HOF management asks that votes be cast with the utmost care and respect for the illustrious history of the league. Be sure that a candidate is truely deserving before putting the "Yes" next to his name.
- Candidates remain on the ballot for six years (about one calendar year in real time) but only if they receive at least two votes in a ballot.
- A two thirds majority (rounded down) of the ballots cast is required to enshrine a player in the HOF.
- Nominations for the HOF can be made with the start of each new season.
- There will be an extended nomination period for the inaugural ballot of the HOF in light of the potentially large number of candidates. Nominations will commence immediately with the posting of this thread and close on July 4, 1962 (SD Time). Hopefully, this will give the voters sufficient time to identify and nominate deserving candidates.
- Nominations for the HOF close on July 4th of each SD calendar year.
- Voting for the HOF ends on October 1st of each SD calendar year so that the new HOF players can be brought out to do things like throw out ceremonial first pitches during the LCS and World Series.

The only thing I might add might be a max number of yesses per owner. It just enforces wk's 4th bullet point. 5? 7? More for the first few seasons while we catch up?
Doing that might require us to look at the 5th bullet point, as well.
Most of all, it would be great to have it up and running again.
