Sorry - we had some site problems in the last few minutes. I think it may have been DNS related because both the message boards and the regular game site had problems. We will be looking into this to see what caused it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry, looks like we were bitten again this evening by this. I rebooted the server, which didn't seem to help initially but things look okay at the moment.

The problems I'm seeing are weird - is anyone else having problems or NOT having problems tonight?

I was having a lot of trouble accessing the game site and the boards throughout the night.Things seem to be working OK right now, though.

Our hosting partner is investigating the incident today. It was weird that both sites were having problems - they are on 2 different servers.

"It appears that Global Crossing (one of the Internet backbone providers) were having problems last night. Our upstream providers and theplanet's (where your other servers are) Internet providers also use them so what you probably saw as the 2-3 minute window it takes to fail over from one provider to another for Internet traffic. I would think that your local ISP would also have to use Global Crossing to pass traffic into both of our networks which caused DNS and IP requests to fail.
Simply put, your Internet traffic was failing because of a intermediate provider having router issues.
Hope this sheds some light on it."

Clear as mud, but that's OK, because I'm too old to understand this stuff anyway. I just hope the site works when I want to sign on, and it usuallydoes. That's very good, since I enjoy the game immensely!
