I thought the people at wikipedia had become pretty strict about editing? I would think they'd make sure everything was pretty neutral.

They got it pretty quick. You can never stop some 14 year old from going on there and writing something out for his idiot friends. I just happened to catch it right after it was altered.

Greatest. Internet Resource. Ever.

About a week ago, you u2u'd me just to say Shinji Ikari sucks. What is it that you dislike so much about the greatest anime series of all-time*?

[size=1]* This isn't even in question. If anyone does choose to refute it, it would be to say that "Cowboy Bebop" is better.^[/size]

No reason, I was drunk...

No it is the greatest anime of all time, no doubt, but I just hate that whiney kid. He really is the only downside to that series and no one will acknowledge that fact.

For example I even own the collector box set the insiders commentary is amazing. They put a ton of theological aspects into Evangelion and as an anime fan I suggest you watch. You may also like Planetes its a really good series as well...

Evangelion is being canceled and I feel like a humungous dork for knowing that.

The ideas "Evangelion is a great series" and "Shinji is the only downside of Evangelion" are mutually exclusive. Without Shinji, there is no series---or the series is just mech fights and fan service. I can't even begin to tell you how wrong you are about this.

Every character in the series serves a purpose and a function in the plot, but only Shinji's role is vital.

Fucking England, there goes the last team I cared about. Well, I guess I'll root for Portugal now, with zero heart behind it. I certainly will never root for the Germans or the Floppies, and pulling for Brazil is like being a Yankee fan. And the French won't win, plus they're still the French.

I'm pulling for them anyway. Now that Argentina is out I have no real favorite, so I'll pull for the team that is the most fun to watch.

The England game had a pretty painful ending. I am looking forward to GER/ITA that should be good.

That Eng/Ital was garbage. Italy should always lose, [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bREY_bSVWE&search=worldcup%2C%20italy]training lto fall is [censored] up[/url]. Another thing I hate penalty kicks. I feel like they don't determine who really is the best team on the field. Also referees dictate too much of the attitude of the game due to all the cards they have been giving out. Im ranting, I guess england just sucked it up, in terms of the mental game they lost the moment rooney got kicked out of the game. That game left me with a bad taste in my mouth, Germany is going to massecre Italy or at least I hope so.

Damn that Brazil/France game was good. It was just amazing Zidane possessed his way to a French win. Even though I was rooting for the underdog (France) I still feel dirty. But when Brazil put in 4 strikers that was amazing stuff, so much talent on the field and crazy quick stuff. Next round France is gonna beat portugal.

Cubs, I think I was 2-2. Howd you do? Portugal and France beat my guesses.
Cubsfan13

2-2 also. I missed France and Germany.

Wayne Rooney is an idiot. Absolute..idiot. If he'd just left it at stomping on the dude's..crotch, he might have gotten away with it. But then he pushes his Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo about a foot in front of the ref, which pretty much sealed up the red card. England actually played better attacking soccer without Rooney, even though Crouch couldn't control the ball to save his life. Lennon was bleeping amazing, Erickson has no excuse for not consistently starting him in my opinion. He came very close to setting up goals multiple times. Ricardo was amazing on penalties, very good reaction and he didn't guess, which made me feel slightly better about it the shootout. But penalties are still shit.

Brazil should have gone with Robinho and Ronaldo uptop, Cafu, Ze Roberto, Kaka, and Ronaldinho in the midfield, then I guess their defense was fine. Putting Ronaldinho at forward was silly and left them with something between a 4-4-2 and a 4-5-1. When Robinho and Cicinho went into the game, Brazil seemed to dominate possesion and get more chances. Anyway, France did play well and deserved to win the game, Zidane has had a great showing these last two games and has been the best player of the knockout rounds. Good run by Henry on the goal, too.

I just hope the rest of the tournament is good. I don't give a shit about any of the teams or who wins really (I just want Italy to lose), so the games better not suck.

I didn't get to see the Portugal-England game, but the Brazil-France match was fun. I was rooting for Brazil, but they came out half-asleep, like they thought it was a given they would win. Even after the goal they didn't wake up (unlike Germany vs. Argentina). It seemed that it took Adriano coming in to finally get Brazil realizing, "Hey, we lose if the other team has a 1-0 lead when this ends."

I thought Zidane was great, obviously, but the announcers need to stop fellating him so much. I guess it isn't so bad when they mention his "magic boots" after every good touch he has---but when he plays a through ball that is 20 yards from being decent, it is stupid to say, "What vision!" Also the color guy (I forget the announcers' names) proved to be very good at seeing the missed calls by the ref... after watching the replay. That bugs me. (Yes I enjoy ripping on commentators more than watching a game sometimes, it's an addiction.)

Homefield advantage is too much to overcome in soccer, so the Germans will take it. But with Brazil out of the picture, I see no reason Portugal isn't the best remaining team. With Deco back from suspension and Figo still controlling the midfield they are the most skilled midfield of the final four. If they could convice Cristiano Ronaldo to pass the ball instead of stepping over it 8 times they'd be awesome. The Italians are too conservative as usual, and the French still haven't played a great game. It's a miracle they're still alive.

How do you say go Portugal in Portugese?
Cubsfan13

July 03, 2006 at 08:08PM View BBCode

The French played an amazing game for 70-75 minutes against Brazil, but other than that they haven't played too great. I guess the last 10 minutes against Spain.

I'll take Germany over France in the final I guess. I really don't want Portugal to win, because they've turned into Italy Jr. as far as flopping and faking injuries. And Italy is..Italy Sr. So I hope they don't win. Argentina did show Italy how to effectively stop Germany though, at least before Peckerman showed that he completely sucks with his substitutes and complete lack of confidence in his team. And if any team can follow a defensive plan, its Italy. Both should be interesting games.

Torsten Frings is out for the Germany-Italy game tomorrow. Tough blow for Germany. I still haven't seen the video of him (supposedly) punching "I shouldn't have been in the game, but Peckerman is an idiot" Cruz. It certainly won't help them in beating a team they lost to 4-1 in a friendly earlier this year.

The prosecuter in the Italian match fixing case apparently demanded that Juventus be dropped to Serie C and AC Milan, Lazio, and Florentina be dropped to Serie B earlier today because of the match fixing scandal. A number of the Italian players play for these teams, so I don't know if they'll be effected by the news today against Germany. They haven't seemed to be effected by the whole thing so far.
