You are referring to Slugfest, right. If so, hugs.

(I was just playing Mario Kart 64 last night and I think I have to admit that N64 is the bestest system ever.)

No man i think he means Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for SNES! That game was unreal. First of its kinda.

Mario Kart is also fantastic, and n64 as well.

Corey you missed the point of my post about changing positions. Quick Fix!!! What you were talking about is a major change. One that I don't agree with personally. I just want something done to better what we have. Quick and easy.

You and Kevin didn't mention another thing. Your RF can learn to play 2B, SS, and 3B faster, if done in that order, than just learning SS. Doesn't that set off alarms in people's heads? Make OF's switching to second base Hard instead of Medium and you've just made this game a little better. We can do a bigger change later, like the new comment I added to the original Quick Fix post.

I agree with you on all points. Basically I was arguing for the sake of arguing. We do need a quick fix. I think it just need to be more difficult for OF to switch to 2b, and any position to go to SS or 3B... but my point was individualized skills per position, which is as you said a hugeee change. For example a 2b who has a bad arm has a bad arm... period. If he is put at SS, he should have a worse arm, because it is further away, and requires a stronger arm.

To me thats what I picture it being in real life.

The 2B arm is the same wherever he is. His poor arm should be more of an issue at SS or 3B. Although a poor arm at 2B affects DP's

TlR2 was a PC game, came out in '91, '92? It was co-designed by the same guy who did Earl Weaver Baseball, so it was sort of the spiritual successor to that game. You could play a full season, it'd keep track of stats, set up an All-Star game, do all that stuff that we take for granted now. You could either play it arcade style (which was basically impossible with a keyboard or the crappy joysticks we had back then) or play one-pitch manager style, where you'd make a specific call for batter (contact, power, bunt, etc.) or pitcher (fastball, curveball, etc.) and watch it play out for each batter.

That was the argument I was trying to make.

Somehow you misquoted me. I said The 2B's ARM is the same wherever he is. Your arm is what it is, wherever you play. A player with a C arm is serviceable at 2B, but would suck at SS, because of the longer throw and just more balls being hit to him would result in more throwing errors. The percentage of throwing errors would be the same, but there would be more infield hits due to his arm strength.

See i disagree. Assume 100 hits, all right at him (so we can take range out of the question), i think he makes 5 errors from 2b, and 10 errors from SS. I think he makes more errors at SS not because he has more opportunities, but because his arm is what it is, and SS is a more arm taxing position.

Why would he make more errors out of 100 hit at him? Because he's 20 feet further away? That might create a slightly higher error rate. But you factor that into the position, not his arm rating. The ratings must stay consistent. The positions are different so different ratings create different results. All of this is probably factored in already.

Well, it is, but the question has been how accurate this factoring is.

Perhaps more errors because he is tired from throwing to first so much.

I was saying that each position should have a skill that is required to be "average". For example:

SS- Range C Arm C
2b Range C Arm D+
1b Range C- Arm D
3b Range C Arm C
LF- Range D+ Arm D+
Cf- Range C Arm D+
RF- Range D+ Arm C-
C- Range C Arm C-

Anything below those (those are like 100% rough and innacurate by the way) would make more errors, anything less would make less errors than average.

If a C/D+ 2b moves from 2b to short, he will make even more errors even when he is at 100% SS because his arm falls below the "average" arm slot.

Does that make sense?

I download from iTunes, and the skipping was gone this week. Two thoughts on this week's 'cast:

1) Sox fans road-tripping to the Yards - there's a novel concept. See if you can spot any O's fans there (I refused, long ago, to go see them play the Sox. It is the worst experience in the world, thousands of drunken assholes who can't say the letter "r".)

2) I meant to post this about last week's 'cast, but I thought the whole thing about interleague play was pretty weird. Not interleague itself, which is an okay idea if people want to do it, but the fact that you (Kevin) identified a problem (unbalanced schedules) and then came up with a "solution" which didn't solve that problem at all, since the interleague schedules as proposed would also be unbalanced. You sort of acknowledged it, but then just brushed it off.

should be after the weekend. we are doing a bi-weekly thing for a bit. we are both hella busy and the episode hits are actually up from doing it less. my guess is people tend to not check in every week but over 2 weeks they end up checking in.

Yes- where is it?

Everyday I go to my dedicated exclusive Sim Dynasty Podcast tab in Firefox and hit reload.
Then just for a split second I dare to dream that there is a new episode.
Then a crushing blow and no new ep.
I can only take this for so long.
