If you want to talk more current games... MVP 2005 was the best until MLB The Show 2009 came out... that game is unreal.

I haven't played MLB The Show. How does it differ from MVP 2005? The problem with MVP 2005 was that it took too long to play multiple seasons. The game is great fun to play, but the simulator was unrealistic. Juan Pierre hitting 22 homers a year was too much for me to take. Since I found SimDynasty, I haven't played my MVP 05 even once.

By the way, tell Kevin that Baseball Stars was an infinitely better all around game than RBI Baseball. The influence it had on Tyson and therefore SimD proves this.

haha there is no changing kevins mind. the show is just so realistic with graphics, staduim, player movements, stances. Its just an amazing game. Throw it on HDTV and play a game. Its pretty great. Its got some base running issues but besides that its a dam good game. Check it out.

Good to see I'm not the only one who followed the progression from MVP 05 to The Show 09.

The truth is though that these games pale in comparison to NCAA Football.

I loved MVP2005. The interface with pitching was awesome... I have no played The Show... ever. I own a 360, not the PS3.

I'm tempted to make the switch.

I guess I'm the only one old enough to long for the days of MicroLeague Baseball on the Commodore 64. Allowed you to create your own teams, leagues, and players.

Before I discovered Simdynasty, I was playing APBA baseball for windows and listening to Ernie Harwell call the games on broadcast blast. I started playing the APBA board game in 1960. I'm probably older than you, barlights

I used to play Micro League all the time, although I played on the Atari 800 XL, which was superior to the Commodore 64 graphically. You could plug in stats from the Baseball Encyclopedia and create any kind of team you wanted. I created each of the original 16 franchises All-time teams using their best players' top five seasons averaged together. Needless to say the Red Sox, Yankees, Indians, Tigers, Cardinals, Dodgers, and Giants were all stacked. I actually found SimD looking for Micro League or something like it.

I played a game on the Apple II in the late '80s that had rosters of pennant winning teams, and you could pit them against each other, and it would act the games out, sort of like the way Dynasty Vision does here. I have no idea what it was called.

It also had something I have never seen in another baseball game: You had to tell RPs to warm up. I always found it odd that every RP was ready to enter the game at any time.

That sounds like Microleague Baseball to me Jughead. You could warm up 2 pitchers at a time. You can actually buy the game for $5 and play in DOS. There are newer versions with different stadiums and more options. Good fun if you like to re-do certain pennant races or create all-star rosters.

Where can you buy it Willy, I've been trying to get a copy forever? I also found SimDynasty while I was trying to find it.

Thanks, I know how to use google and had already checked that.

You have to register with that site and then register with one of their sponsors. I get enough spam. I was asking where he found it to buy it.

Also, if you have to register with one of their sponsors, use a fake, disposable e-mail address. Yahoo allows you to set up lots of them.

Also, not to say you haven't... google the isbn and upc codes... you might get better hits.

Corey you missed the point of my post about changing positions. Quick Fix!!! What you were talking about is a major change. One that I don't agree with personally. I just want something done to better what we have. Quick and easy.

You and Kevin didn't mention another thing. Your RF can learn to play 2B, SS, and 3B faster, if done in that order, than just learning SS. Doesn't that set off alarms in people's heads? Make OF's switching to second base Hard instead of Medium and you've just made this game a little better. We can do a bigger change later, like the new comment I added to the original Quick Fix post.

I never played The Show (don't have a PS3), but I still maintain that MVP '05 is fantastic. The pitcher-batter interface is miles ahead of the 2K series, and the fielding controls are much more intuitive as well. My main complaint is how slow it takes to get through a season (I tend to play more a GM-type role in my baseball games, where I like to spend more time in offseason deals than actually going through the season, so it was annoying how MVP couldn't let you sim through multiple games at a time like Madden), but it's still a great game.

You are referring to Slugfest, right. If so, hugs.

(I was just playing Mario Kart 64 last night and I think I have to admit that N64 is the bestest system ever.)
