Trade #1427946 has been completed between the Boston Pops and the Kansas City River Cats. The Kansas City River Cats receive Charles Johnson, Fred Tomasic-Park from the Boston Pops in exchange for Dan Hoderlein.

I had hoped to get more for Hoderlein, since he has excellent skills and a couple more quite good seasons left, but it was not to be. Boston gave the best offer, so I accepted it. I am not real big on Tomasic, since his hitting against righties is very weak. However, he's only 24, so there is still time for him to develop. I'll start him and hope he gets some substantial major league improves. All in all, it was best deal I could get for a guy who had to be moved.

a 2nd for Kaiser

A trade has been completed between the Boston Pops and the Los Angeles Miracles. The Los Angeles Miracles receive [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11853368&modern=true&statsorimps=stats]Walt Kaiser[/url] from the Boston Pops in exchange for Draft Pick - 2096 Round 2 (LAN).

Back when Boston was looking for a bat I offered up [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11729938]Castillo[/url] in return for Kaiser but Boston was in a holding pattern waiting for another bat and countered with this offer. I took a long look at the draft pool and decided that Kaiser was likely as good, or better, than what I would find in the 2nd round and since I'm going to need arms in a hurry decided to take the Pops up on their offer.

We'll see how it works out.

At his age (OS23) Kaiser was probably not going to make my squad and rather than letting him "rot" in my minors I had been shopping him around for a pick (which I hope to parlay into a younger version of Kaiser, who may be able to make my team in 5-6 years).

Trade #1436936 has been completed between the Texas Hamiltonians and the Brooklyn Gothams. The Brooklyn Gothams receive [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11517140]Jim Pyle[/url] from the Texas Hamiltonians in exchange for [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11788743]Jack Laudner[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11853296]Tod Leach[/url], and Draft Pick - 2098 Round 1 (BRO).

Jim Pyle is clearly the best hitter in the BoHo at the moment. He is an A+/A+ vs. RHP and has won 3 MVP awards, including 2 in the past 3 seasons. He is also OS 34.

This was the best offer that I've received for Pyle or any of my hitters in the past few seasons that I have been shopping them around. Brooklyn seems like a team on the rise that is serious about trying to win a title before the end of the term. The 1st rounder is a flier playoff pick. Laudner gives me some useful OF depth. Leach is instantly the 2nd best bullpen arm on a pitching staff that struggles beyond Beckmann and Flowers.

Hopefully I can move a couple more pieces and get this rebuild rolling along.

Since I am going for it all before the term (unless something dramatically changes I won't be renewing) picks don't help and as George Allen once said "the future is now."

Another big bat for a pick who won't help short-term, a reserve outfielder and a potentially good reliever who I did not want to give up seems like the move to make.

Satoh for Corgan

5/2/96

Trade #1438961 has been completed between the Boston Pops and the Milwaukee Indians. The Milwaukee Indians receive Bill Corgan from the Boston Pops in exchange for Kazuhiro Satoh.

Well documented that [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11853295]Satoh[/url] failed to clear waivers (I was one of the teams who put in a claim) and Milwaukee subsequently put him OTB. Pitching has been my biggest concern this season (performance and injuries) so adding another solid arm was a goal. I've been following Satoh for awhile and was glad to get him. [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11730006]Corgan[/url] has been OTB as well with no interest (I can't get him the playing time he needs to develop). I thought this was a good chance to get him to a team that will play him (while he is still converting) while addressing my pitching woes.

This deal should pay dividends to both of us.

I was hoping to stash Satoh. And When Corgan became available and had 3b eligibility I decided to take the chance as Coppola is near the end of starter status. Strangely enough Coppola was also sitting on Boston's bench when I got him and he turned into a NL multi time All Star.

I got SPer [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11758770]Tom Nicholson[/url] in the trade for Coppola - I think that deal has worked out well for both of us!

Trade #1439831 has been completed between the Boston Pops and the Brooklyn Gothams. The Brooklyn Gothams receive Harry Richie from the Boston Pops in exchange for Draft Pick - 2098 Round 2 (BRO).

Simple deal - I had no room for Richie on my squad as he was about to come off the DL (nice problem to have) but he still has good skills and is performing well. I know Brooklyn is making a title run and it looked like Richie could add value to his staff so I offered him for a 2nd rounder and that was that!

I've now got 4 2nd round picks in the '98 OS so am really hoping for a deep draft pool!!!

Cliburn's RBI total for a 4th round pick

September 10, 2016 at 03:48AM View BBCode

8/29/2096

A trade has been completed between the Los Angeles Miracles and the New York Goodens. The New York Goodens receive from the Los Angeles Miracles in exchange for Draft Pick - 2097 Round 4 (NYN).

As the league calendar reached July 3rd I [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=434739]posted[/url] about [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11549512]Juan Cliburn's[/url] prodigious RBI total.

Ever the gambler Bonnie Brae jumped in setting an over/under of 141 and taking the under. Initially the wager was for a 3rd rounder but before the deal could be made Cliburn blew up even more and the deal became 4th for 4th. In [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/boxscore.jsp?boxscoreid=33669571&cityid=29]game #131[/url] Cliburn drove in a pair to hit the 142 mark and the deal was done.

I'm really glad he got it done before September 1st or someone might have protested the trade.

Yeah, I like friendly bets. I make a fantasy baseball bet with a friend every year and typically lose since I have four kids and don't watch baseball.

This year, I have to weara pink Ivanka Trimp button to the booth on Election Day.

Trade #1458853 has been completed between the Texas Hamiltonians and the New York Goodens. The New York Goodens receive [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11482976]Stanley Duckworth[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11549500]Justin Hearron[/url], and [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11729981]Joe Beckmann[/url] from the Texas Hamiltonians in exchange for [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11912271]Faydtu Black[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11818650]Dave McGriff[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11971857]MC Hooper[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11880763]Elio Mesa[/url], [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11971814]Ima Likachyk[/url], and a 2nd round draft pick.

Beckmann is the big prize here. He is an A overall SP with one of the league's best WHIP/ERA combos over the past 3 seasons. He has won a Cy Young award in 2095 and led the AL in innings pitched in 2096.

Hearron is no slouch either. His C- health leads to a lot of injuries, but when he is on the field he is one of the top hitters in the league. His .935 OPS was 2nd in the AL in 2096.

Duckworth is in decline but still a quality OF bat.

In return I get a jump start on a rebuild that has been a long time coming. Winning 92 games last season and sneaking into the playoffs shocked me as much as anyone. Likachyk and Mesa give me two more rotation arms under 25 to slot in and hope for the best with. Black is a useful bullpen piece. Hooper hopefully develops into a superstar slugger. McGriff can actually field in the IF; which is something that not many of my other veteran hitters can do. The 2nd round draft pick is a lottery ticket. Maybe I get lucky with a useful player, maybe not.

I lose a couple of superstars but hopefully add enough youth and depth to rebuild this thing on the fly. Meanwhile, the NL clearly is the league to beat this year. Whichever AL team makes it to the WS is going to be challenged.

This is a "now-for-later" swap I'd normally not make. The two I dealt should be as good, or better, than the vets. I'm going for the ring though.

Trade #1458858 has been completed between the Texas Hamiltonians and the St. Louis Men In Laundry. The St. Louis Men In Laundry receive Brian Wilshere from the Texas Hamiltonians in exchange for Draft Pick - 2098 Round 4 (STL).

this is an avoid the penalty deal. wilsher can play a few positions in the IF, can hit a bit and is able to field competently, which makes him the best all-around infielder on our roster, unfortunately. also, he was one of my original expansion draft picks in my last go around in MON, so there's a sentimental component. (his 2086 season for us was one of my very favourite by any of my players ever. he led the league in AVG, SLG, OBP and OPS- and didn't make the all-star team. good one, ABE!)

the 4th is something that won't hurt too muchto give up but could turn into something for TEX.

Trade #1459409 has been completed between the Kansas City River Cats and the St. Louis Men In Laundry. The St. Louis Men In Laundry receive Diego Munoz, Chris Miriano, Draft Pick - 2098 Round 1 (KC) from the Kansas City River Cats in exchange for Les Burton, Draft Pick - 2098 Round 2 (STL).

after some extensive negotiations with several teams, I finally got an offer I mostly liked for Burton. moving him will make us far more likely to get hit with the penalty (if anyone has any more of my ex-players they want to send over cheap, now's the time) but the two prospects I got should develop into solid contributors and this team is such a trainwreck that I just need to focus on collecting young talent. i'd have been happier not giving up the 2, but OAK insisted.

My core that remains from the expansion draft are almost all ex Tampa as I chose to find as much youth as I could. All I have left from Nos Amours are [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11402323]Suhr[/url], on his last legs, [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11443573]Q Park[/url], also on his last legs and [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11402368]Murray[/url] who has no legs left at all but is a reasonable defensive reserve for my group of pretenders .

All of them have made solid contributions and I thank you for their service.

there a playoff spot up for grabs in both leagues right now and i'm trying to use that as an opportunity to collect prospects and picks. schomberg and franco are short-medium term upgrades for WAS is what should be a tight race. coombs is a long-term asset for him. i get to add adams and coleman to my building collection of developable arms and another pick for this year. now if some of you can just renew so i can start adding future picks, i'll be all set.

honestly, i think of all the teams I've built on this site, that one was my favourite. it took an awful lot of work to put together and i feel like if i hadn't had to leave that it would have been a contender through that entire term. i considered going back there when i took over STL, but it just wouldn't have been the same.

Trade #1459639 has been completed between the St. Louis Men In Laundry and the Milwaukee Indians. The Milwaukee Indians receive Bob Wright, Bob Ignacio, Joe Eiland, Bobby Adams, Oscar Bradford from the St. Louis Men In Laundry in exchange for Tommy Monroe, Al Dwyer, Draft Pick - 2098 Round 1 (MIL).

did I mention that there are two wide-open playoff races and that i'm collecting prospects? I feel like I did.

MIL gets some young pitching and some young vets who can help in both the short and long-term, as well as a solid bench bat, to go after that wildcard spot. we get an elite pitching prospect, a good hitting prospect and another 1st as we continue to build towards a hopefully brighter future. this deal might really put the final nail in our loss penalty situation but I felt like getting a guy who was already a top pick mitigates that risk somewhat. he's already converted several ICs, so the chance that he's a bust are minimal.

Trade #1459642 has been completed between the Boston Pops and the St. Louis Men In Laundry. The St. Louis Men In Laundry receive Jimmie Kores from the Boston Pops in exchange for Draft Pick - 2099 Round 2 (STL).

I don't really like moving future picks in a long-term rebuild but there are only so many players I can fit in the minors at any one time and at the moment i'm now sitting with 4 1sts for next year. this moves a future 2nd for a player that I had ranked more or less where he went in the 1st this year. he's converting well so far and he's old enough that he can move to the majors in the short-term future to help with the loss penalty if I need. his F health is an issue but without that i'd probably have needed to spend more than a 2 to get him, so I feel that's fair.

(it's about time I got some orange on that completed trades board. I was starting to feel like I'd lost my touch.)

A trade #1460127 has been completed between the Los Angeles Miracles and the Texas Hamiltonians. The Texas Hamiltonians receive Ralph Devarez, Lance Taber, Chanse MacLeod from the Los Angeles Miracles in exchange for [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?mode=player&playername=nobody&id=11758825]Larry Garcia[/url].

I needed another bullpen arm and overpaid for it. After being rebuffed on a few fronts, including Garcia, I made this offer and Texas accepted. Garcia's a solid #3 arm out of the pen, and I tend to run only a 3 man pen so injuries will happen, I'm hoping he pitches as well for me as he did for Texas. Garcia's also only OS31 so he'll still be valuable for 3-4 more years.

In return I give up a fill in arm in Devarez, a pretty good prospect in Taber and a very good prospect in MacLeod. Taber is only OS25 and B+ overall with a control heavy bundle while MacLeod is only 22 and should make A- overall but without a maxed skill. As I said I likely overpaid but sometimes you do that when you are treading water and only have a year or two left to contend.
