I'm sorry to be posting here, but I couldn't help myself.
The major league average (as posted by Bob) for last season was 135 attempts and a 68% success rate.
based on these numbers, these stats seem so far out of whack it hurts.
1) The D speed team set on ultra conservative had 108 attempts!!! Just my opinion but should the B team set on moderate roughly average 138 attempts?
2) The B team set at moderate had a success rate of 52%!!! Shouldn't an average speed team set at an average agressive mode have roughly an average of 68%?
p.s I considered B average as an easier way of controlling overall attempts and success rate. Simply the average basestealer would have atleast above average speed.

Do you know if the 68% success rate that you're quoting on stealing 2nd or stealing 2nd and 3rd?

I hate to assume, I'm just going to guess since Bob said league average it means 2nd and 3rd.
p.s. I have some free time right now and have been toying with a scale if your interested.

Correct -- that was the overall success rate last year, so it includes steals of 2nd, 3rd and home (if there were any last season).

Can anyone dig up some historical numbers for me? Average by decade or something like that?
I have no idea where I pulled my original numbers of .69 for 2nd and .50 for 3rd, but that's what I had in the system before I started fiddling with the Beta league.

Thanks for the info. I changed the underlying numbers back to .69 for 2nd base and .5 for 3rd base. I also decreased overall the chances that a guy would try to steal.
Also, I slightly increased the tiredness a SP would have in the 9th inning, hopefully decreasing CG.
