Fouts follows the rule? 3 years into the league he had 16 TD passes, 36 INT and a passer rating of 56. That is about the same as Ryan Leaf for god's sake,

Starr does look to be an exception, though Young and Fouts seem to follow the rule. As for Bradshaw, well, he's vastly overrated, SB titles aside.

yeah because SB titles have nothing to do with being good right?

Of course there is quite a difference from a one-time super bowl winner and a four time super bowl winner.

Still QBs are unduly credited with a team's success and unduly blamed for its failures. Look at the jackasses who say that Peyton Manning isn't a good QB because he's never won the super bowl

a one time SB winner on a team whose defense scored about as much as its offense is a bit different from a 4 time SB winner, 2 time SB MVP, one time League MVP who called his own plays in an era where most QBs didnt.

Do you think Bradshaw was a good quarterback?

I think he was a good QB.

I also think that a guy can be given credit for a team's success when all he did was not lose the games, instead of help win them.

Both sides have a point though.

Of course Bradshaw was a good QB. Only a complete idiot would say he wasn't good. That isn't to say that he's one of the top ten to ever play in the league but to imply that he wasn't even good is ridiculious.

I even think that saying he is overrated is a stretch.

He is overrated. It's not a stretch.

Bradshaw played in 3 pro bowls and was a 2-time Super Bowl MVP. So in my mind he is certainly deserving of the hall of fame.

That said I would not put Bradshaw in my list of top 10 NFL quarterbacks of the Super Bowl era. Probably between 10 and 20.

This seems like a stretch to me. Mark Rypien is just short of both of these standards (2 Pro Bowls and 1 Super Bowl MVP), and I hope you don't consider him Hall-worthy.

I was a huge Steeler fan as a kid, and I loved Bradshaw, but his numbers do not stack up with the greatest ever.

A more interesting question would be: Is Bradshaw the dumbest QB in this "greatest QB ever" debate?

I think he may be.

Why is he overrated. Nobody puts him in their list of top 10 QBs of all time (at least none that I've seen). Nobody thinks he's particularly intelligent (yet hes been very successful for a small town hick from Louisiana). Are you saying that he's more in the class of Joe Ferguson and Steve Bartkowski rather than Joe Namath, Bob Griese or Warren Moon?

How many QBs have led thier team to 4 SB wins? I know its not all Bradshaw but he is definatly a big part of it. And I think that the question was about QB performance after being sub par thier first 3 years, and bradshaw definately bucks the trend.

Terry Bradshaw is dumb enough to have a great job right now making about a half-million dollars to barely work other than act like his dumb-ass self.

He was a great winner, a leader, and a gutsy player. And of course all of these characteristics should be considered when evaluating a quarterback.

I just have a hard time with Bradshaw's 212/210 career TD/INT ratio, and 70.9 QB rating. Especially since he was surrounded by several hall of famers on offense.

I have a hard time with Troy Aikman for that same reason kinslow(the HOFers around him) but I respect the guy because he went out there and got the job done.

This is how you evaluate quarterbacks? Your avatar should be Joe Morgan instead of Larry Jones.

I made no mention of my evaluation of Aikman as a quarterback, only that I had respect for him.
