He certainly never...has done nothing interesting or even remotely comical in his natural life.

Sure he has, must we already forget the steroid era. He did all of his accomplishments during MLB's witch hunt, and came out clean. That counts for something.

Only a photo montage like that brings out the gloriousness that is The Flying Dutchman's schozz. Look at that thing. It should have its own sitcom.August 01, 2006 at 09:37PM View BBCode

Does Pujols have a wicked awesome Jewfro, while not actually being a Jew? I think not.

No, but for a brief period, he did have a jery curlAugust 01, 2006 at 09:49PM View BBCode
I must admit that I'm tempted to stay away from this one. I really should run and hide but the stupidity of proclaiming a guy with a total of six seasons under his belt as the greatest hitter of all time is just so mind boggelingly (that one is just for Max) stupid that I have to weigh in.August 01, 2006 at 09:50PM View BBCode
But it is always great to see pictures of the greatest third baseman to ever play the game.August 01, 2006 at 09:53PM View BBCode
Stare at the Jewfro. Marvel at it. Think about all the years it was confined under a hat, until the owner of it got old and bald and unable to share it with the world. THAT is the real crime here.August 01, 2006 at 10:07PM View BBCode
"I can't feel my legs" surely would have sufficed.August 01, 2006 at 10:13PM View BBCode
"Hello, yes, this is Satan. I'm looking for, what was it again Edna? Whiskybear? You sure about that? Alright, if you insist. Yes, I'm looking for someone named Whiskybear. Tell him it's urgent. Yes, I'll hold."August 01, 2006 at 10:17PM View BBCode
Upon reflection, "I'm the luckiest---and least-walkingest---man on the face of the earth" is more worth the affront to decency.August 01, 2006 at 10:17PM View BBCode

The idea of proclaiming Pujols, at this point in his career, as the best hitter of all time, is as stupid as it would have been to proclaim Frank Thomas the greatest in 1997 or Eric Davis in 1989 or Hal Trotsky in 1940. Any of them could have been argued 6-8 years into their careers as all-time greats yet each of them fizzled for various reasons. That's not to say that Pujols can't become great but if you want to compare him to Ruth, Williams, Aaron, Mays, Cobb, Wagner and that ilk then you have some waiting to do.

The point is to me, that since I do get to see him play, and can actually judge his abilities in person as they vary from each at-bat with my eyes, and not just go by numbers and testomony from someone 60 years in the past, Pujols is my choice as the greatest now and ever.

I've never actually seen a major league baseball game, I've only ever gotten a chance to watch my local high school team play (Go Bruins!). Therefore, I declare senior first baseman Joey Stockwell to be the greatest baseball player who ever lived.August 01, 2006 at 10:30PM View BBCode

Really, what were his stats? If you didn't catch that, that was sarcasm.

I don't truck with your "stats". I believe only what my eyes tell me, which is that Joey looks damn good in his uniform, and I know I saw him hit the ball hard a whole bunch of times. Real hard.
