If he played in the dead-ball era, he would have. And yes he did, when Bonds was winning the MVP all the damn time.

Sure he has, must we already forget the steroid era. He did all of his accomplishments during MLB's witch hunt, and came out clean. That counts for something.

Your ripostes are highly pathetic. Get over Bonds.

I even threw in a double-negative to throw you off the trail. Christ, I can't get anything by you.

Which cannot be said of this man:

Only a photo montage like that brings out the gloriousness that is The Flying Dutchman's schozz. Look at that thing. It should have its own sitcom.

Getting back on the topic:

Does Pujols have a wicked awesome Jewfro, while not actually being a Jew? I think not.

I must admit that I'm tempted to stay away from this one. I really should run and hide but the stupidity of proclaiming a guy with a total of six seasons under his belt as the greatest hitter of all time is just so mind boggelingly (that one is just for Max) stupid that I have to weigh in.
The idea of proclaiming Pujols, at this point in his career, as the best hitter of all time, is as stupid as it would have been to proclaim Frank Thomas the greatest in 1997 or Eric Davis in 1989 or Hal Trotsky in 1940. Any of them could have been argued 6-8 years into their careers as all-time greats yet each of them fizzled for various reasons. That's not to say that Pujols can't become great but if you want to compare him to Ruth, Williams, Aaron, Mays, Cobb, Wagner and that ilk then you have some waiting to do.

But it is always great to see pictures of the greatest third baseman to ever play the game.

Stare at the Jewfro. Marvel at it. Think about all the years it was confined under a hat, until the owner of it got old and bald and unable to share it with the world. THAT is the real crime here.

"Hello, yes, this is Satan. I'm looking for, what was it again Edna? Whiskybear? You sure about that? Alright, if you insist. Yes, I'm looking for someone named Whiskybear. Tell him it's urgent. Yes, I'll hold."

Upon reflection, "I'm the luckiest---and least-walkingest---man on the face of the earth" is more worth the affront to decency.

This is what I've been waiting for. Here we go. True, he has not played out his entire career, only maybe 1/4 of it. True, he has six seasons. I give you that, even agree with you on that point. But to say that it is stupid of me to proclaim him with that title is not stupid as others have stated in other polls about other athletes that they did not see certain people compete when they played in their eras, as is true for me. For me, from what I have seen, Pujols is my choice as the greatest. Staticstics, recollections, and tape are what we have of Ruth, Foxx, Cobb, Gehrig, and those other great hitters that we did not get to see play either because we were too young to remember or we were just not born to see it happen. Stat wise, Ruth,Williams, Foxx, Hornsby and Aaron to me are virtural locks as greatest ever. However I didn't get to see them play, not even Strawberry during the mid to late 80's when he was still clearly one of the best players in the game, and coke wasn't that much of an issue in his life; I was still learning to walk. The point is to me, that since I do get to see him play, and can actually judge his abilities in person as they vary from each at-bat with my eyes, and not just go by numbers and testomony from someone 60 years in the past, Pujols is my choice as the greatest now and ever. I don't want to change your opinion on the matter, hell i even respect it. However, if I must defend my position, then i will, which is what this forum is about. By the way since we are on the subject, who is your choice since you didn't give one, but decided you must swoop in and call me stupid for mine.

Don't confuse the boy, he was soiling his britches when Darryl and Doc were doing pre-game lines off the urinals in Shea.

I've never actually seen a major league baseball game, I've only ever gotten a chance to watch my local high school team play (Go Bruins!). Therefore, I declare senior first baseman Joey Stockwell to be the greatest baseball player who ever lived.

I don't truck with your "stats". I believe only what my eyes tell me, which is that Joey looks damn good in his uniform, and I know I saw him hit the ball hard a whole bunch of times. Real hard.
