I've had Tyson top this, so when you go to message boards, move your mouse over it and it says the options, there is a tab that drops down that says league messages, when you click that it brings you to the GGL board where this topic will remain at the top even though it won't from the standings page

I was hoping we could make a clean topic that starts simply with the ground rules, then people can post their CP trades. But if this is ok.... I won't worry about it.

Hi All,
Just a reminder that Dynasty league owners can trade CPs however they want to. Current or future owners are under no obligation to limit their CP trading and this won't be enforced by site Admins.

On the other hand, if you guys want to have limits or policies, we can explore changing this to a private league. It would require unanimous consent, owners would renew 5 seasons at a time, and Dynasty Dollars aren't used in private leagues. But other than that, everything else is the same.

converting to a private league would be kind of cool, would give us some or most of the site wide options to add to our league

Could be drastic, I like the simplicity of Dynasty leagues. (with the obvious exception of the current topic).

i think wed still have the option to keep it 3games a day and dont have to make changes that are avaliable but we would at least have the option, im just talking like variable development, the winning percentage thing, those are just a few small things but this is my favorite league either way i think with the cps hes just saying we would pretty much police it ourselves

AH... so we could still set the house rules, but we wouldn't have a supreme authority to appeal to. That might prove problematic, is there a way we could police it with unanimous or 75% support?

I'm talking about keeping this a dynasty league, but having ground rules for CP Trades. Admin/Tyson says they can't police the rules in Dynasty leagues, it'd have to be enforced/honored by the league managers themselves. I know for a fact we won't change from a dynasty league, mostly because I like being a dynasty league, I don't really feel very strongly about any other rule besides the CP trading.

In any case, if we're willing to police the deals here in house, and there isn't a vast outcry from the rest of the league, I'm going to post a sticky thread that has the rules, and current outstanding CP trades.

Yeah, that's fine with me and yes that's what he's saying, we need to enforce it and what not

Plus I work diligently to collect those free Dynasty Dollars and I have enough to purchase another season, now. I know I'm not the only one who does that, either.

So while I like some of the other site options (like having 120 CPs to rank your minor league prospects), I'd like to remain a Dynasty league, too.

Yeah, I love this league, it's great IMO, lot of good people and owners, and plus with private leagues, I think the reason they have so much trouble filling it, is because i dont think a lot of people want to have to renew for 5 full seasons right away one of the leagues I'm in you need to renew for 8 seasons at a time, I prefer the go year by year approach, renew if you have to for a trade or something, it's getting close to that time to renew for this league as well

We can't just start trading CP's folks. This is a MAJOR RULE CHANGE and has to be voted on. I for one will not vote for it.

If we are going to limit it to 4 cp's or whatever, then what is the point?

And some people will still mange to take advantage of it by trading a 2nd round pick in a crappy draft to an unsuspecting owner for 4 cp's or whatever the cap is. I KNOW this will happen.

I am bundy, and I support this message.

We can't have special rules in a Dynasty league. Dynasty leagues are allowed to trade CPs in an unlimited manner.

If you guys want special rules, we'll have to go through the process of converting it to a Private league. You can stay at 3 GPD.

so we can't set a limit on cps? really? if we can't set a limit then we mine as well not, because there will be teams that will over abuse it IMO.

You use a gentlemans agreement as most leagues that don't convert have!

he's saying there is no limit, as in if we as a league want to say the most cps you can gain is an extra 5, he's saying no, he's saying if dynasty leagues agree to it there is no limits

BP.....it's not a foreign concept.... any group of owners can get together and have a gentlemans agreement as a league on things they do.....it's just not written down anywhere!!!......can anyone break it, sure.....but that's why they call it gentleman's..... it presupposes there are actually gentleman involved!!!.....been around the block a time or two on that one.......thanks,

We've had problems in the past with gentleman's agreements in Dynasty leagues, because owners will come and go. So I like to remind people that these aren't binding in any way in Dynasty leagues.

Completely understood......acknowledged above....although I must say league's with cp trade rules in place (private etc.) are far from problem free as well when owners come and go!!!.....wouldn't want anyone to think that going private guarantees us to be problem free regarding CP trades.....any leagues (with a CP rule or gentlemans agreement) success depends entirely on the quality and integrity of the owners involved!.....and really the same is true if there is no limit or if you have no rule/agreement at all!
