MOL Hall of Fame Ballot

March 26, 2016 at 06:46PM View BBCode

Hey Guys,

Here is your Hall of Fame ballot. Please vote either by replying here or send a private U2U to tpcurley or me. You have until the end of the season, but the sooner the better!

5th Ballot

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=9556750]Paul Danzig[/url] - 7 time All Star and 2002 AL MVP Danzig was certainly one of the best catchers of his generation. At first glance, his career totals seem a little pedestrian, but a longer look reveals that hard luck Danzig's nine injuries accumulated an astounding 229 days injured throughout his career, and for a catcher, that amounts to almost two full seasons lost to injury to be taken into consideration.

4th Ballot

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=9682445]Nelson Cruz[/url] - Cruz made 10 All Star games and participated in 8 post season campaigns. His 502 stolen bases placed him in a tie for 17th place all time. He finished with a .290 career batting average

3rd Ballot

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10274503]Kewpie Cato[/url]- 3 time AL Cy Young winner Cato enjoyed five 20 win seasons, and led the entire MOL in ERA 2006-08. His 2840 career strikeouts rank 26th in the MOL all time. The 6 time All Star was a key contributor in 4 World Series Championships with the Los Angeles Edge.

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=9934774]Charlie Chiffer[/url]- Another 3 time AL Cy Young winner, Chiffer was a strikeout machine, leading the MOL in Ks in three separate seasons. His 2935 career strikeouts tally 18th in the MOL all time. The former Cleveland Indians ace enjoyed 10 post season appearances, and finally captured a World Series ring in 2008 after being traded to the Cincinnati Sex Pistols.

2nd Ballot

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10684450]Curt Rogers[/url] - Rogers was the ace of Cincinnati's bullpen during their glory days, achieving 414 saves (17th all time) and capturing the Fireman Award 4 times. He made it to 8 All Star games and holds a career ERA of 2.85. He helped Cinci to 8 league championship series, advanced to the World Series 4 times, winning one ring.

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10274521]Bob Mora[/url] - 8 time All Star Mora played his entire 17 year career under the bright lights in the Big Apple. The slugging OF was the MOL HR king three separate times (2005, 2007, 2011) and had 9 straight 100 RBI seasons, leading the MOL in RBI in 2007 and 2008. Mora mashed a career total of 442 HRs which puts him tied for 18th on the all time MOL leaderboard, while his prodigious 1548 career RBI mark rank him at 29th in MOL history.

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10587624]Billy Wilson[/url] - Washington ace Wilson led a resurgence in the capitol city, leading the Crooks in their two World Series championships in 2007 and 2011. The 5 time All Star won 20 games in three separate seasons, earning AL CY Young honors in 2011. Wilson led the MOL in complete games in 2011 with a whopping 14, and also led the MOL is strikeouts in 2004 and 2011, finishing his 15 year career all with Washington, and with a total of 2805 strikeouts.

And the 2016 candidates:
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10072718]Hobie Jones[/url] - Jones won the Rookie of the year in 1999 and went on to a life time batting average of .304(11th all time), had 305 HR and 506 SB (17th all time). Along the way he made 9 All Star games, was MVP once and a 2 time gold glove winner. He was also 7 for 7 in the WS - every time there he got a ring! He was in the LCS an additional 4 times. Jones is 15th on the MOL all time list in runs scored, tied for 16th with is 126 triples, and his .378 OBP is 12th all time

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=10381087]Jim Brett[/url] - That crazy Brooklyn manager denied Brett the chance to achieve 3000 Ks by limiting him to 22 innings pitched his final season, so he had to settle with 2999 (15th all time). Brett earned 3 Cy Young awards, had a lifetime ERA of 3.55, Is 20 on the MOL all time list with 107 complete games, made two trips to the WS and was an All Star 7 times.

Paul Danzig, Charlie Chiffer, Bob Mora, Kewpie Cato, Hobie Jones.... and the Great Jim Brett with: (9) 200 strikeout seasons 3 Cy Youngs / 2nd most strikeouts ever in a season 265 just 3 off the record of 268, 5th most strikeouts ever in a season 261 just 7 off the record and about 5 other season above 232 and a whole host of other types of seasonal excellence. I did not actually figure it out but he is clearly one of the top 2 or 3 K's per 9 innings pitchers in the history of this league perhaps even #1. I am certainly a "Homer" but if I don't make the case who will?
I vote yes to the above Players
