Well it's a little unusual to trade with the guy you are trying to catch for the playoffs but I like the deal. You get a top notch prospect who is better than the current pitching prospect you have 5 points on. I'd do it and bring up Stanka to play everyday.

I'd have to agree. Losing Lopez will hurt you a bit for this year, but you will be way ahead in the long run. You may even get lucky and Stanka might give you close to the production Lopez gave you.

Please keep in mind, this is a private league and we have some different rules. I MUST start a CF in CF, so if I trade Lopez away, I cannot put Stanka in CF. I will have to use the 36 yr old Landis I recieve in the trade

I'm sorry that is a really dumb rule, the fact that you can't take a prospect out of the minors and play him at another position is just.............well it's just dumb.

So players are fixed at the position ABE assigns them forever ?

So wait...your league doesn't allow guys like Chone Figgins? Or Freddy Sanchez? Or Alfonso Soriano? Or Ichiro or Ryan Freel and about 250 other guys?

the league requires a cf in cf benne, and a ss at ss. othewise, you can do what you like. you can play one player out of position, and half the lineup must be over 27, and two those must be over 30. it also has a wierd lottery. it is just not a typical league, there is very little tanking there, as there is zero reward to it, the lottery is weighted toward middle of the pack teams.

a centerfielder, 30 years old and good has a GREAT deal of value in that league, thus you see the pitching prospect in the deal.

it is unrealistic i guess, that we don't have players there like chone figgins. but most of the leagues you're talking about, if chone is 30 years old, he gets traded for next to nothing. and that is not realistic either. in that league, good veteran playrs have a lot of value. when was the last time you saw a pitcher that young and good in a deal for a 30 year old hitter in a tanking league? it never happens.

yes, take the trade. its a very good deal for you. you might have to make another deal to get your roster straight. but you should not pass up the opportunity to acquire that pitcher.

If you have to use Landis do so and then play Stanka instead of McNally at SS. You may even be farther ahead plus you get the pitching prospect. I think that Stanka and Landis is comparable to Lopez and McNally.

Meh, fair enough; that's just not my type of league I guess...
