I'd probably take it. The season's amost over and your guy is likely to retire at the end of it. You give up a bit of mentoring but otherwise you'll get nothing for him.

Assuming you can keep your mentor grade at C+ without Schoendienst I would make this deal.

Put Torre on the bench, he's 27 and not very good, play Corey at 2B, move White (D+ arm) to 1B and play Beaches at SS.
