Okay...what is the deal with the word "goat" as used on the site? I've always understood it to mean "greatest of all time", so I thought it was intended to be used sarcastically. However, recent posts have made me believe it has some other meaning. What am I missing?July 22, 2007 at 03:18PM View BBCode
It comes from Lou (drunkengoat) and refers in a broad sense to doing something foolish (like a trade for an A+/D hitter)July 23, 2007 at 03:59AM View BBCode
I guess some people use it that way. I've always used it as a placeholder for saying nothing ("there is no response worth making here"), which makes it puzzling that Sarah Silverman (and Tyson, apparently) thinks I insulted him. Whatever. How do you respond to someone who thinks the simulation is out to get them?July 23, 2007 at 09:31AM View BBCode
Plus since they ended thread you can't explain that to frankie as if you need to or should but at least he would know no offense was thrown at him with that word you were just responding to drunkengoat.July 23, 2007 at 10:17AM View BBCode

I never insulted you. I suggested your closer isn't what you think he is, and I wondered why you think the game is out to get you. And I said goat a few times, which as I've already explained is just a placeholder, like saying "..." Relax, man, it's not worth working up all the anger.July 23, 2007 at 05:36PM View BBCode
Funny story... When I started "winning" in the OGL, we tried replacing it temporarily with "Geoff."July 23, 2007 at 05:39PM View BBCode

I always thought that "Geoff" was more of a reference to my battle with Diction and Grammer, than my lack of victoriesJuly 23, 2007 at 05:52PM View BBCode
Perhaps it should be used for only the very specific case of capitalizing words seemingly completely at random.July 23, 2007 at 07:53PM View BBCode

Goat + Drunken is just a smoke screen to put people off guard. When you least expect it, he pulls off some great deal propelling his team to victory. I am not sure when Goat has done that, but I am sure that he has many times! Oh, he did one time when I traded him Memory. Later he made the playoffs. They players I received helped me intot he playoffs the next year.Pages: 1
