If Kocher and Webb were the final two pieces to turn your team into a contender, it might be okay. But they aren't. Your bullpen needs work, and your young hitters still need to improve. By the time you're ready to contend, Kocher and Webb will be retired. Meanwhile, as you're scrambling to replace those guys, Twitty, Petrocelli, and that #1 pick will be helping NY move back into contention.

In all probability you're not jumping from last to first, and that deal ONLY makes sense if it makes you a contender. As it is, you're a rebuilding team giving up two real good young pitchers and a high 1st round pick for two old guys, a mediocre guy, and a late #2 pick.
