So it looks like you would be moving up from lets say 15 to 3rd right now. But can you guarantee that that pick is going to be 3? No, it could end up being #5 overall.

however, Lundstedt is worthless, Brandt is a low B/B-, so hes ok, but not great either, and yeah, Hicks definately has some potential, but is not a blue chipper.

It really depends on what you can get. What does the class look like. If it is top heavy, than why not do the deal?

If it doesn't have a lot of 1-5 talent, but has more depth, and less separation between lets say 5-12, maybe not.

If you have the opportunity to move up to the top 3 in the draft and there are nice stars at the top, then go for it. You're only giving up some mid-level prospects and have a chance to grab a blue-chip guy with the pick (and since the 2nd pick will be high, you could even grab a nice CP project with that one...)
