I wouldn't make this deal. You give up all your SP mentoring for basically nothing.

If you can replace the mentoring value, then I'd make the deal. But if not, I'm not sure it's worth doing...even if he retires after the season. It's not like those 3rd round draft picks are likely to be future all-stars.

Getting anything at all for a 37-year old pitcher is usually a good deal, but...in your case, who replaces his mentoring ability for your young SP? Is there a guy on the waiver wire you can claim?If you can replace the mentoring value, then I'd make the deal. But if not, I'm not sure it's worth doing...even if he retires after the season. It's not like those 3rd round draft picks are likely to be future all-stars.

I would pass on this. You've already got more than enough youth, so late picks like this that would AT BEST be a huge CP project don't help you at all. You're getting more benefit from Szotkiewicz as a mentor for your young SPs than you'd get from this.I'd ask for something else/better/more useful for you if you want to deal this guy.
