While not necessarily advocating lvnwrth's position, you seem to have a glut of young SPs. You seem to need young hitters. I would hold out to see if you can get a better deal, but I see no real reason why you should not do this

I actually see several:
1. Cody Lewis is a worthless piece of garbage who has ZERO future.
2. While all of us can point to the occasional 4th or 5th round success story who became an all-star, a 3rd round draft choice is throw away material nine drafts out of ten.
3. That leaves you with Rogers, an OS 23 OF who can't hit LHP and probably never will; has bad health; and may or may not reach A- PvR, depending on how high or low his B is in that area right now.
4. Having a glut of good young pitching is not a "problem" to be addressed. It is an advantage to be exploited. Accepting a bad deal, just because you can "afford" to give up the young pitcher doesn't make the bad deal better.
If you want to trade a pitcher, go post on your league message board that you would like to trade one of your young SP. You'll probably get better offers than this. If not, make relief pitchers out of some of them.

I agree with lvnwrth here, this trade is not market value for Koehler.
While I don't think Lewis is worthless, remember this league is in 1951 so B+/B pitchers can often be effective, he has nowhere near the upside of Koehler and Rogers is a middle of the road type of guy.
Worst case scenario is you keep things as they are, the only guy I see in your minors wiothout CPs who
might benefit is Carey. Next year you bring up Koehler, dump Boyle and put Crosetti in the bullpen where he belongs.

Then just hang on to the guy. The two guidelines in trading/roster management are these:
1. A bad draft choice with a high pick doesn't merit 5 CP for three years trying to prove you weren't as dumb as you thought you were (we've all done this); and;
2. A bad deal is worse than no deal at all. Koehler may ROT on your roster, but at least he's not going to come back to haunt you, while you get nothing in return.

Okay, I misspoke here. But seriously, Lewis' upside is probably A-/B+, low A- overall. I doubt he gets any better than that.
Koehler is already a better pitcher, and for developmental purposes he's a year younger (OS 20 compared to OS 21 for Lewis). The upside difference in these two guys is not off-set by a platoon outfielder, and with B-/C+ v LHP at OS 23, coupled with Rogers D+ health, that's probably all you're going to get from him.
IF...IF...
Lewis gets a couple of those crazy good improvement years and winds up an A/A-; and Rogers stays remarkably health, hits near the top of the order, and winds up A+/A v RHP, A-/B+ v LHP, could this be a great trade? It could. But Jim is left taking pretty much all the risk in the deal.

What would you consider fair value for Koehler? My thought has been a stud ML ready hitter or a prospect and a 1st rounder but perhaps I'm being greedy.

Go take a look at the comments made about your Koehler-Tabler offer and you'll have an idea.
