I need your help with this trade offer. This is a Private or Speed League. I'm trying to get a prospect I can develop, that is Hughes. I'll probably put Rothrock in my rotation. We swapped 3b, mine is 3 years younger. He gave me a 1B, who he recommends I move into LF. Then I gave my 1st rounder and I get a 3rd rounder of his.

Thoughts? His young pitchers seem really great.

I have been offered:

Ike Hughes

1953 Draft Pick Rd 3(CLE)

I would give up:

Well I see you have already pulled the trigger on this but I will give you my advice anyway. Overall it is not a terrible deal, the 2 offensive guys you are getting are pretty good but the young pitchers are not going to amount to much more than a so so middle reliever and a poor #5 starter unless you get really really lucky with their improves. Put your CPs on Wiedenbaur instead of Hughes, he is a much better prospect.

The good news is you got a couple of good hitters, the bad news is those pitchers aren't worth much.

They are both OS21 with C and C- control, they may end up as decent #5 guys given that it's 1950 but going forward you want to acquire pitchers who can at least attain B+ control ratings.

Chris is also right about CPs - Weidenbaur is your best prospect, and if you want to put them on Hughes then take them off Piktuzis who, with D- control, has zero chance to ever be a major leaguer.

On a side note, if you've already made the deal without any advice just delete the post - hit "edit post" then click the box under the post that says Delete.
