New RP Fatigue is in place

November 04, 2003 at 05:39PM View BBCode

I moved the changes in so that RP fatigue will now be using the new system.

Also, there was a tweak to the number of Strikeouts and Wild Pitches. Wild pitches will be much less likely to happen, and strikeouts will happen about 13% more often.

Is that across the board, or should high velocity pitchers see more benefit?

Its across the board. I changed the base percentage - so perhaps high velocity pitchers would get more benefit - I'd have to think it through.

After some research, particular pitchers or hitters should not benefit more than others.

I think that needs to change as well. The harder a pitcher throws, the more K's and HR's he gives up.

What is the current code in place for a strikeout? It has to be contingent on vel/cont to some degree, right?

The problem with that, if it is that way, is that what happens when you're 6 years in and the pitchers are A/A and the hitters are A/A, will the ratios drop?

Meaning, all pitchers and batters should have 13% more strikeouts - it isn't exponential.

That is how it works now.

Velocity, Control, and batter Contact. Velocity is weighed more heavily than Control. The rest is secret :)

The base ratio will be the same.
