That guys been through a decline??

I would accept this just for 1. The amazing name of snodgrass
and 2. Snodgrass will be pretty good and Garcia is near retirement.

Ick. I would not take this AT ALL.

First of all, with your rebuild, your 1957 2nd rounder and his 1957 1st rounder could be as close as the difference between the #16 and the #17 pick! Likewise, your 1958 2nd rounder will still be high, while the 1956 DET 2nd rounder will be low, and the 1957 PIT 2nd rounder will be high while the 1956 BRO 2nd rounder will be low.

In essence, this trade appears to be you swapping your #17-#18 pick 2nd rounder in 1957 for his #15-#16 pick in the same year, and for the privilege of moving up a whopping 2-3 positions you're swapping down SIGNIFICANTLY from your top 2nd round to his bottom 2nd round picks. The rest of the players you're receiving back are waiver wire caliber in most leagues, except for Snodgrass who is a decent as-expected late 2nd round pick. His inclusion doesn't make this worthwhile though.

And on top of that, you're asked to give up a super stud like Carl Garcia? Absolutely not. I probably wouldn't take this deal even if you did NOT have to give up Garcia. With him, it's not even close.

However, I do concur with yankeekid that "Chicken Snodgrass" is an admirable ABE name. :)

I guess I over rated the amazing name.

If you want to make a trade with Detroit, you should offer one or more of your veterans for Kwami McQuick, Butch Coolidge, and/or Carmelo Lopez.

I did notice that two of the players offered were from the waiver wire. I was trying to sort out the draft pick situation. Thanks.

Leonard,
There's nothing wrong with offering players from the waiver wire. It's just that if they really ARE waiver wire quality, treat them accordingly. :)

Sometimes someone manages to grab a B+ veteran from the waiver wire. He may have been from the wire, but he's still a useful B+ veteran sometimes!

The focus of this, though, is really the draft picks, which seems that you're very marginally improving from your 2nd to his 1st in 1957, and in exchange are swapping away high 2nd rounders for low 2nd rounders and extremely low 3rd rounders, which doesn't really balance to me - not to mention when the veteran stud is added on.

I agree with what you said about the waiver wire players. I've found a diamond in the rough through waivers before. I just didn't think they would help my team. Thanks.
