Brett Favre

November 28, 2006 at 12:08PM View BBCode

He threw 3 INT's last night, and is projected to throw 15 on the season (far better than last year.)

I think he should try to break Marino's career TD mark (420), since he only has 10 to go...

Then should he hang it up and let Aaron Rogers have a chance?

they are not interceptions when Favre throws them....we call them "gunslings"

if he feels like he can still compete, he'll be back for another year. He has already publicly said that he's definitely not where he was mid-career, but that he feels like he can still play well.

What I don't like about Favre is that point in the game where he stops actually, you know, trying to win the game. Where he just says "f*ck it" and whips the ball down the field.

He can play really well, and then he decides he doesn't care anymore. What awful interceptions he threw last night.

If I'm a Packer fan, I want him gone. He's not doing them any good anymore.

Rodgers didn't show too much promise either though.

Yeah... I AM a Packer fan and I'm torn. I was never sold on Rodgers to begin with... I feel like Brett might as well make a run at extending the record if he gets it. We should have picked up Leinart this year instead of Hawk in my opinion.

Hawk balances that D big time. He'll be there forever. Wisconsin would have been in an uproar if they had Rodgers already and then drafted Leinart too.

the best move would be to trade Rogers and go after Shaub

I dunno... I still think Matt Leinart will be awesome in a year or two... he just needs a better O-Line.

I like Hawk, don't get me wrong. I just wish we had a better replacement for Favre.

How many years in a row do you need to draft a quarterback in the first round? The team already spent a 1st rounder on Rodgers, what's the point of using another 1st rounder on someone else? They're not going to declare that draft a complete failure before they give him some actual playing time.

1/2 the country thought Rodgers would go top 5...but once they drafted him they said he wants the QB of the future.

Rodgers seemed like a steal at the time because of that high Mel Kiper Jr. projection.... and I can understand why they drafted him. Brett was getting old, and the Packers were used to getting to the playoffs and having late first round picks. It seemed like more bang for the buck at the time, but the next year they ended up with the fourth overall pick and could have scored a much better QB in Leinart.

I just hope they get a decent receiver or two in this years draft. I'm already sick of the losing.

I'm sure you have all seen this at one time or another, but let me remind you.

Rodgers is a Tedford QB, the man who has also produced Kyle Boller, Trent Dilfer, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, and David Carr.

The bunch has had a few moments of success: Dilfer has the distinction of being the least talented QB to ever win a Super Bowl, and Carr has finally made some strides, but I wouldn't expect much from Rodgers.

On the other hand, Leinart won 2 championships while at SC, and came from the coach that polished Carson Palmer (with assistance from Norm Chow), generally considered one of the three or five best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Proven winner, proven pro-style system, impressive track record = better chance of being a successful NFL QB. Duh.

Oh, and to address the topic at hand, Favre circa 2006 sucks.

He thinks that he's superman, and still thinks he can hit a target the size of wonderwoman's cooch.

Rodgers is getting punished by FAVRE for being the next guy. Brett should be mentoring and helping Rodgers develop instead he is being a prick.
