Interesting Stat

I was reading some articles on pitching and saw one quote a stat that I thought was interesting. Instead of looking at total wins or win/loss percentage, this used a wins/games stat. What percentage of the games a pitcher pitched in did he get the win. I ran the numbers for all pitchers in our league with 200 or more wins and here's what I got.

1. Spahn 65.9
2. Burdette 62.0
3. Grogan 58.5
4. Law 57.2
5. Breining 55.9
6. Slaton 53.6
7. Meyers 52.4
8. Keriazakos 50.7
9. Hancock 49.4
10. Richards 48.4
11. Kielsey 47.0
12. Jones 44.9

Some of the pitchers were hurt somewhat by pitching several games in relief during their career. I thought it was interesting that only 8 of the 18 had won more than half of their starts.

Got the wife, kids, and a dog, work 40 hours, coach youth basketball 3 days a week, play softball once a week, play basketball once a week, date night alone with the wife once a week, we do a game night with friends and family once a month, and this...I think I have too much life right now. ;)
