'Stros get El Caballo (and Williams too)

Sure $100 million is a heck of a lot of cash, but in this market doesn't seem increadibly nuts (ala Matthews Jr at $50 mil or Pierre at $45 mil). Bottom line - the 'Stros made a couple of great deals for the team! :spin: Berkman now will have some protection in the lineup and maybe the new "instant offense" from Lee will convince Pettitte and Clemens to give it another go. We shall see!!!

A 2 year 12 million dollar deal for 40 year old Woody Williams. .
WOW
Awesome job, 'Stros. . . just keeping hitting Biggio at the top of the order so that Berkman and Lee have no one on when they come up. .

Not to worry, Bigg is only a .201 hitter the second half of the season (and at $12 mil I expect Woody'll be pinch hitting for him alot in that second half :D ).
As for Clemens and Pettitte, I think it is both or neither - its looking pretty possible that Pettitte may simply retire (in which case I think Clemens goes to Boston or retires himself...).
