Well, nobody seems to be giving us any advice toady, so I will do my best. NOT IN A MILLION YEARS. Kind of insulting considering you most likely could have the #1 pick or #2 of the draft and could find a really good stud. My 1st rounder in 96 is looking like a mid rounder as of now. And two second rounders. Nothin in it for you man. I think I overtraded for Mata a little bit. Don't think most of what the Clevland owner is offering is fair at all now being in the league for 3 years. :o

The other issue, aside from placement, is suppose you picked up two number one picks this year. With the way your minors are you wouldn't have the resources to properly develop them, there just isn't the space so the extra first round pick isn't really helpful at all. With the number 1/2 pick you may get a major league ready player that goes right into the lineup and even if you don't you can always promote HOJO and play him daily if you need to (he'll be 23) but there is no way you should promote Mabe and Montegudo is one that you should only promote if desperate-he's better served by the minor league apprentaiceship.
Good choice to move the CPs from Cone to Mabe

Next step-realize that you're a developing team and commit to the youth. You're losing with the vets, how much worse would you lose with the youth plus the youth will still develop while the vets in your lineup are done.
If it were my team I'd have Bailey playing first, Jeffries playing second, leave Wright at 3B to mentor, Crespo at short, McReynolds, Ruiz and Beltran in the outfield. You should have at least a C+ mentoring with that group and will be developing for next year instead of just wasting this year. Wright and Beltran hit 7th and 8th.
