Looking for a new MMO

July 07, 2006 at 08:24PM View BBCode

Anyone know of a good online game to play?

Im looking for one that involves leveling up a character and has decent graphics. Thanks.

Be sure to not post any websites here, just the name of the game, thanks.

Hello uncle Lothar! If you ask me about such questions, ill gang-spam you with stupid questions that leads to the same game.

Just tell me if you want to pay-to-play:

If yes: World of Warcraft (in order to piss off ME and Happy)

If no: Guild Wars (in order to piss off DG)

If im not touching that dial: Runescape (in order to piss me)

I played runescape all the way up to lvl 83, I need something better than that Piece of shyte game.

Everyone I know who plays MMO's says World of Warcraft is awesome and that the 15 bucks a month is worth it. A couple of people I work with have lvl 60 characters and will help me lvl up if I decide to buy the game. Kind of sucks though because Id have to buy the game, pay 15 bucks a month, and buy the burning crusade expansion when it comes out as well. But warcraft is tops at my list at the moment, but am searching for cheaper alternatives presently.

I have read about guild wars: factions and it sounds fairly interesting, anyone know if its any good?

and is DDO any good?

I also hear good things about DDO, Id like to hear from someone who has actually played it though. Also I hear there is no pvp in DDO, which is not that big of a deal to me but it might be to you Tim.

I played the DDO trial. It wasnt althrough interesting. Plus the levelling seems to consist entirely of dungeon crawl.

And for GW, ask DG, i think he's playing it.

Guild Wars and DDO are both decent games, maybe a 3.5 out of 5, but if DDO were free like Guild Wars it would be the better of the two. If you have the money, there is absolutely no reason to not go with World of Warcraft. It's easily the best one. $25 a month would still be a reasonable price. Just a quick, 3 game review for ya.

And yes, there is no P2P in DDO.

World of Warcraft just seems so pricey. I would have to pay around 40 bucks for the game, than id have to get the burning crusade expansion when it comes out in a few months so im guessing that is another 40 bucks plus 15 bucks a month. Im going to try some other alternatives first before going the warcraft route. Maybe I can find a good game without paying so much money . .

Im downloading Anarchy online and the Everquest II 7 day trial version. I'll let you know what I think of those two when I try them out.

For the record, here is a list of games I have tried so far that I wouild not suggest wasting any time on.

1. Faldon
2. Graal
3. Infantry
4. runescape

Here's a [url=https://login.blizzard.fileplanet.com/login.aspx?o=login&d=fileplanet&r=http://www.fileplanet.com/blizzard_promotion/wow_raf.htm]free World of Warcraft 10 day trial[/url] for ya. Also, you don't have to get the Expansion Pack...

I need a faster comp for warcraft because it is so graphix intensive. And I would almost certainly have to buy the expansion ;)

I have been playing silkroad lately. Ever play dynasty warriors on xbox or play station? its sort of like that, but better.

Also if you ever played romance of the three kingdoms on super nintendo or play station ( I know syco has ) than you might like this game as well.

Well keep us posted on whatever you get. I am in the market having played Everquest about 4 years ago and dumped it for its lamness factor..So if you get a good one let us know. BTW Red Orchestra FREAKING Rocks.

I'll have to try silkroad, because romance of the three kingdoms was one of my favs in the past. If it's anything like that I'll be pleased...

MMO's are useless. The internet is for porn!

Eternal Kingdoms is a pretty cool game if you ask me, but somehow I doubt anyone will take my advice.

Oh, and this you have to buy, but if you want to go back a ways starcraft is still such a great game.
