;) What can I say? without a doubt Johnny Jones is the best hurler in our league.. He held the baby bugs to 4 hits, but even J.J. could'nt keep Merl (The Pearl) Combs from driving in Henry Schilling who had singled earlier to deprive the great one of a shut-out.:P. New York jumped on Stelmazek for four in the first but then he settled down and pitched decently until the 4th when a dinger by former Spider favorite Johnny Berardino sent him to the showers.:(. George Roa, a recent acquisition obtained by the Spides to bolster the pen, pitched five solid innings in relief scattering 3 hits and yielding only a single run. We just got beat by a master at his craft stated Spiders Mgr. Luvvy Twobunt.:)August 18, 2003 at 04:12PM View BBCode
Johnny Jones strikes again. It's getting to the point that this is all expected. NY fans, no matter whtat their team siutation is, know that when double J pitches, its a win. Last night was no different. Jones pitched his second complete game in a row to keep his undefeated streak alive. With the 6-1 defeat of the stuggling spiders, jones received help thru out the line up as 6 different batters get RBI'S. Tonight NY looks to make it 2 in a row as 2 south paws go at it with Beardon and Drake.August 18, 2003 at 08:25PM View formatted
