Early Picks to Win the World Series

September 29, 2005 at 01:05AM View BBCode

My money is on Kansas City and St. Louis, another I-70 series. KC has strong pitching, and St. Louis almost made it there last year, and I think will barley beat the Demolition in the NLCS...

What! No option to pick the slow starting Brooklyn Ward Heelers?

We're just waiting in the tall grass guys. Be afraid, be very afraid!

Or not.

I go with Boston. Strong pitching and hitting are a deadly combination. I think it will be a hotly contested race for the playoffs but ultimately Boston and St. Louis go to the series.

Boston proved to be the best last year, and they seem to have everyone back. While Chicago (NL) has put together an impressive lineup, they haven't won anything yet, and Boston can probably top anyone the NL has to offer!

I prefer to be the underdog. The sleeper. But, my lineup is significantly more powerful than the rest of the league combined. I have to imagine that gives me some kind of upper hand. I did make a great trade for the future by trading a good vet SP Kenny Rogers for 2 young SP's that lowered my team overall for this year, but I felt confident enough in the lineup to do that, and I wanted to have some future to intice me to extend future years in this league. And, it's almost unethical to bury a team's future to win now unless you're willing to hang around and suffer through it.
Anyway, as most homers go, I voted for my team.

Kansas City over Boston

With the retrun of Siever from the DL, Milwaukee is hoping to get back in the race and challange the leaders.
