Grinnell College hoops on ESPN2

February 01, 2005 at 11:54PM View BBCode

Thursday at 6 p.m. PST. They're the D-III team that made national headlines a year or two ago for averaging just shy of two billion points per game by basically shooting nothing but 3-pointers and not playing defense at all. I checked the team stats, and it looks like they're playing the same style:

I'm definitely watching. Over/under for the game shall be set at 240.

Wow, that system sure is working for them.

No joke. I think they did better with it a couple years ago. Or maybe they just don't have the horses and figure they might as well have some fun while they're getting their asses kicked.

You would think more people would want to go there after they got some exposure, and it would turn into the best D3 program or something and they'd be getting great (for D3) recruits, but apparently not.

Grinnell and Beloit hooked up earlier this season, and Beloit won 118-116. I'm still taking the over.

George Mason Universtity tries that several years ago. I cant remember the coaches name but he used to coach the Lakers and the Nuggets and had very high scoring teams at Denver. Oh by the way I do know he was not successful at George Mason using that system.

A disaster with the Sonics. The mention of that name sends shivers down my spine.

Westphall owes everything he has to Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble. That Loyola Marymount team was alot of fun to watch.

I just thought of his name and you were damn close, it's Paul Westhead.

That was such a crappy game, but it was close at least. I guess it was exciting, but just really poorly played. I guess thats why its division 3.

ya it was poorly played the player would penetrate towards the basket, have an open lay up and instead dished it out for a three, the weirdest game i have ever seen, but it was exciting at the end.

That's their style of play. That, and having hot guy-on-guy....umm, never mind.
