St. Louis, I have no Probs with any of your players names just wish you would change them so they aren't in all caps.January 16, 2005 at 09:32PM View BBCode
All caps sucks :) (but then i hate all of the stupid named people too, so who cares what i think)January 17, 2005 at 12:42AM View BBCode
I'm with you Bosox. I don't have any problem with name changes for draftees or players that haven't played yet. But changing names for players that have a history bugs me. Especially when they're named after real players.January 17, 2005 at 02:42AM View BBCode
yeah I agree with that barndog. I like the fact that bobby avilla and joe donahue, for example, are part of the history of the BHL and i will never change their name.January 17, 2005 at 04:30AM View BBCode
Yeah I hate stupid names like Dizzy, Babe, Pee-Wee and Yogi they are just so unrealistic.January 17, 2005 at 05:00AM View formatted

I have to agree with ME on this one about it being his team and he can name them how he wants. ALL CAPS THOUGH MAKES IT ANNOYING!!January 17, 2005 at 06:02PM View BBCode
Renaming of existing players is a bit uncool but acceptable. The all-caps are definitely an eyesore.January 17, 2005 at 07:02PM View BBCode
It's your team and it's in an open Dynasty League with no real rules or regulations so you can do whatever you like with the names of the players. Whatever gives you pleasure. Whether or not I agree or like it has very little bearing and doesn't really matter. The renaming of players that have a long history within a league you just joined does show a lack of respect for the league though.January 18, 2005 at 03:06AM View BBCode
I see the point on the history of the player though, lose track of who they are when the name changes. For now on when I obtain a player from someone else I will only tweek the first name, probably just give a nickname to go along with curent name that way I get to individualize my team and still respect the history of the Billy Hamilton League.January 18, 2005 at 05:21AM View BBCode
Well, guys, I see your points about the history thing, however, my only point in the post is the ALL CAPS. and, as I said there is nothing in the rule book ALL CAPS violates. I do want to thank St. Louis for changing the names from ALL CAPS so that the player names are easier to read. heck. when you look at the all-star page these days St. Louis players all over it.January 18, 2005 at 11:06PM View BBCode
Yeah, i think at this point we are just discussing our own preferences, opinions that should not be weighed as anything other than personal preference. When i took over Boston, and Pittsburgh can attest to this, everyone was named something Irish. I changed those names because i didnt want a team full of Irishes. I tried to change the names back to the ones before they were changed to Irish. Case in point Alvin Smith used to be Al Smith, Cowboy Jack Clement became Jack Clement. He is still a cowboy, it just doesn't reflect in his name. When i traded for King Roman Valley, i hated that, so i kept the King part and made him Dylan King. I pretty much assure you that, if i ever trade with Possum Nation, I WILL change the names. Again, to each his own, you pay for the team, so you can do what you want, but i HATE his player names! :)Pages: 1
