Blockbuster sends Boswell to KC

Kansas City (AP) The Chicago Kanns and the Kansas City Anarchy pulled off a blockbuster 3 player deal. The Anarchy recieve 1B/CF Mike Boswell from the Kanns for stud setup man Bernie Tomko, young SS Frank Backman, and Kansas City's #1 pick in this year's draft.
Boswell had a breakout year for the Kanns last season where he shattered 21 HR's while playing for the last place team. It was his first full year playing in the majors. After some disputes with the Chicago front office, Boswell demanded a trade. It turns out, Boswell was frustrated with having to play CF, a position that he had never played before in his entire career. After fueling offers from serveral other teams, both Chicago and Kansas City agreed to the trade.
"Kansas City's a team that was high on my list. I think with our lineup, we can definitely contend for a playoff spot," said Boswell.
The semi-cocky Boswell also guaranteed that barring injury, he will hit 40 HR's.
The Kansas City front office would not accept our calls after we inquired about Boswell's guarantee.

Wow .. I didnt think we could make a deal that we would agree on.. Good luck with boswell; we will try to convert Tomko and will hand him the ball every fifth day....Backman will develop as an above average SS and hopefully we can get another stud with the draft pick...hopefuly this works for both of us...

I really wanted a power hitting 1B and Boswell has semi-proven himself. It helps that he's only 23 as well. The last thing that I now need from my team is a starting pitcher, whether it be an ace, or a #4 pitcher.. I'll take it. Greene, my previous 1B is on the block so if anyone wants him, just send the offer.

The NY Rain GM Anno Myss in a hastily called press conference vehemently denied that his job was gone after failing to acquire Boswell for a SECOND time but admitted he will be badly in need of a resume if he doesn't get that LF mighty damn soon.
