Playoff Spots Locked Up?

November 01, 2004 at 11:03PM View BBCode

Despite a spirited race in the AL, it looks like Washington has the Pennant locked up and Cleveland has the Wildcard locked up. I was rooting for the surprising Red Wolves or the overlooked Rain to take the Wildcard, but Cleveland is most decidedly an impressive opponent.

But what happened to St. Louis? On paper, they're amazing. In the NL, they're in third. The Milwaukee-Chicago playoff should be awesome.

Oops, I was thinking only 11 games were left, not 21. Still the playoff spots look pretty locked in.

They're locked up. When the Red Wolves were swept in 3 close games today, Cleveland landed their first playoff berth, unless they really choke.
What a time for a hitting slump.
The Red Wolves will back next season, if pitching these young players has helped any.

I am 6 back and have games left against Cleveland so...

Washington needs to fully cooperate and sweep them and lose to us

Ahhhh, the wonderful "on-paper" tigers that are the St. Louis Esquires. Kudos to the Clippers who have a very balanced and consistent team. I hope Chicago tears the heart out of that Lobos team and eats it for breakfast in a three-game sweep.

I do envy the powerhitting that is the Senators, the Clippers and the Lobos. If I only had more power...

I hope to take it one game at a time and if I make the playoffs then great but having one of my best pitchers on the DL doesn't help. I have been amazed that I have stayed in the race the whole season. Normally my team goes on a big loosing string no matter what I do.

When it rains it pours. Problem is that a wet dog is not always a easy dog to handle.

The Clippers do scare me a bit. I feel my team is the strongest it has been since the league started, but when the playoffs start, you can throw records out the door. I do feel bad for the Esquires this year. If they only had some power. Maybe they could go Oz with Dorthy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and Toto to get some.
