coach points

Somehow I have gotten more then the allowed coaching points. I don't really understand what they are all about
and would like some clarification. If I am supposed to change
the 1's to 0's to get the coaching points back down to 15,
I don't know the most advantageous way to go about this...
just randomly choose, or is there a strategy I need to take?

Most people cut their minor league roster to 15 players and put 5 coaching points on the 3 they want to develop the most and 0 on the rest. Check out the Q&A forum for more details/opinions/strategies.

Thanks, I am totally new at this. So I simply get rid of
three of my players if I am three points over. Am I penalized
with the excess?

You get 1 "invisible" improvement chance for every guy in your minor leagues. By keeping more than 15, you decrease the number of improvement chances for the guys you want to focus on.
