Howdy from a New Owner

September 13, 2004 at 03:36AM View BBCode

Hello! I am the new owner of the St. Louis team -- in keeping with the musical theme of my other teams, we will be renaming the team the Power Chords. Tomorrow we find out how much of the World Series Championship team we get to keep and how many of the former Yellow Sox are still alive to be drafted. Good luck to the new Pittsburgh owner in putting together the fragments of a good team and one in trouble -- I think we'll both need it. Good to be joining everyone here and looking forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome to the CCL

You picked up a great team!
I think you'll find this league board is quite active, so it's a lot of fun.

Yeah you got Pancho, he's basically the god of this league.

I'm excited to see some new owners. The balance of power will change with the expansion draft. I'm curious to see who gets who. Good luck.:spin::spin::spin:

This is a very active group of good owners. It's been a blast since it's inauguration, and there's no doubt it will continue.

Shaking up the St. Louis squad may be a good thing for those of us in the N.L. There looks like plenty of talent to be able to compete right off the bat for both the expansion teams. I can't wait to see how the drafts shake out.

I'm pretty pleased with the expansion draft -- of course who could complain after drafting Pancho. Could probably use a few heavier hitters in places, but that's what trading is for. Don't know how much use the amateur draft will be -- but at least maybe I'll be able to replace a couple of the ancient minor leaguers I needed to get up to 15 players with someone younger.
