it's not an unreasonable offer and I guess he might make A+/B- with a decent amount of luck, but I don't see that this is really something that makes sense for you. with any luck you can get someone better by using the pick yourself. if you want to take the shot at hitting the lottery, i'd maybe offer him a 3.

That's going to be a high 2nd rd pick if you draft well you will more than likely get a better player than him. Also who has the room to develop a player like this unless your minors really suck. Doesn't make sense for you imo, but at least it wasn't the typical rip off trade from the WBL.

which, btw, has already had a trade protest in the first week or so since trading was re-allowed. that league is a dis-as-ter.

Interesting

With a fair amount of respect & a fair amount of trepidation...For a guy that seemingly wants nothing to do with the WBL & is quick to point out the negative... You certainly are very keen to keep up with the latest WBL news. My advise to you... if the WBL is the implied blight on the sight that you make it out to be... then ignore the league & the posts by Michael & other nefarious owners from the WBL. Your negativity does not elevate the conversation or the forum.

As a well respected member of the sim community, your pithy commentary on the WBL is unbecoming of your stature & lessons the positive feedback you give so often on other topic

I can appreciate why you have that viewpoint. I really do. I'm certainly not going to be mad about it. But that league causes more controversy, requires more trade advice, drains more resources and creates more trade protests than probably the rest of the site put together. You're the only league I'm aware of that has ever been banned from trading. And as soon as it gets turned back on you immediately have another protest. It's long past time it was shut down. That's not personal. I'm just tired of all your drama.

Understood

So my take on this... everyone on the site (especially the respected veterans like yourself) are well aware of the "unique" personalities in the WBL, their character flaws, their objective reasoning flaws & the maddeningly frequent requests for advise on asinine & abusive trade offers

Let it go...

No matter how hard you try or you want to try...some individuals are not going to change/ or try to understand your logic. It's frustrating, but don't take it personally....Not everyone plays this game for the same reason. Not everyone is wired the same way & is as invested in winning or spending the time & effort to learn how to successfully build a team.

By making smart ass comments or negative comments, it opens the door for other members of the Sim oligarchy to do the same... it's like dogs peeing on a fire hydrant. It's not worth it; it detracts from the site & lessens the positive advise that you & many other give

Sorry to vent, but getting a little tired of the WBL being the site piņata (even if a good bit of it is deserved)

I'll tell you what- you have your league mates stop spamming the public boards with their nonsense offers and politics and we'll stop taking shots at the league. Keep your stuff in-house and we'll stop peeking in the windows. Fair?

ok...probaly digging myself in deeper.

or why can't you just let go?

Why do you feel obligated to reply when you know (or have a strong inclination of) what the outcome to your reply will be?

Just ignore it. It's not worth your time & effort. It doesn't help the site or your reputation to stoop to the level of some of the lunacy that happens in the WBL.

Chris suggested to avoid the trade protests that we submit all our trades to the trade advice forum.

The trade advice gurus then tell us to stop asking for advice cause all the trades in that league are trash.

So either we try to avoid protests or you can censored about them because we are not asking for advice.

I really wanted to if a B+/D pitcher at 20 was worth trading for. But I guess he is trash like most of the minor league players in the WBL.

i think we are mistaken in thinking that if chris just didnt have to babysit this one league all the time he'd have so much time to work on things for all of us instead of just working for a couple guys in 1 league. if the wallberger closed up, it sure would free up a lot of chris' time, but i think he'd use that time doing the things he cares about.

michael i'd decline that trade, the pitcher isnt hopeless but id be disappointed if hes my 2nd rd pick

Copper is OS20, C+ overall with a heavily weighted velocity split. I think his best case is A+/B- but he's more than likely going to be one grade lower in either skill, so possibly A/B- or A+/C+ neither of which has much value.

Amazingly Montreal has already flipped him for a 2nd but he's just not worth the effort and CPs to deal out a 2nd round pick for IMO.
