Trade

September 11, 2017 at 12:22AM View BBCode

Trade #68017 has been completed between the Nashville Sharks and the Dallas Blah. The Dallas Blah receive Dan Brown (QB), Draft Pick - 1975 Round 6 (NAS), Draft Pick - 1973 Round 6 (NAS) from the Nashville Sharks in exchange for Draft Pick - 1973 Round 1 (DAL), Draft Pick - 1973 Round 4 (GB), Draft Pick - 1975 Round 3 (DAL)

A last place 1st, fourteenth place 3rd, and a 4th round pick for a 29 year old A- execution, A+ throw power, A accuracy, A+ carry QB? Seriously? That's just wrong.

I offered the trade based on he had a young stud at qb already and the 1st pick of the draft. you cannot play 2 qb, so my idea was he gets another 1st in one of our deeper drafts, albeit a lot at RB and G. My first instinct was to make the offer for his young qb, but I decided that was unlikely to work.

I think there is a valid complaint I could have offered more, but Brown has also never really lived up to numbers either and I am guessing is why Nashville went in a different direction.

Leaving a potential stud on the bench, till the starter gets too old to trade is not necessarily the best move taking into consideration that Brown has not gotten it done even with the best RB is the league behind him. Mitchell just won his 4th SB, but at 32 I have not even had an offer, so how long do you wait?

Follet was just 1 year older than brown when he was traded to GB for a 1st and a 3rd. He has lost quite a few improvement points over his 2 seasons with GB and his numbers are still similar to Browns.

Are you sure it was the trade itself or because the trade was with me?

I thiught it was fair. Brown is worth more but all things considered it was a good deal for both teams.

A last place first round pick is more like a second rounder, so basically he got away with trading a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th for the best QB in the league. That's wrong.

It is fair to say I could have given more.

The trade is similar in structure to the trade made for Follet, I looked at the deal as an example when I made my offer.

I have never seen a trade period, where I did not think one team came out better than the other.

Any other team could have looked at Nashville's roster, seen that Davenport developed quickly (much quicker than I anticipated and kudos to Mich who stated Davenport would be a stud, I disagreed and was wrong) If you were attentive, you also noticed Nashville started getting Davenport playing experience last season. All that led me to believe Brown might be available, I took a shot, it is not my fault you did not.

I will bet money Nashville would have taken a higher pick over mine had another offered. Snooze you lose. That's not unfair.

Hum is right. Brown was not living up to his potential. Just because he has the #1 skill rankings does not make him #1. Hopefully Brandon Brodnax will develop into a top notch QB. We will see. Everything in this game his a crap roll. I have been around long enough to know what I want and what i think is fair to me.. Don't care what anyone else thinks is fair. :puzzled:

This isn't real life it's a sim, so if Brown didn't live up to his potential it's only because he either didn't have the supporting cast, the right strategy, or you're just unlucky with dice rolls. Either way you got ripped off.

By the way, if I had known Brown was even available I would have given you two 1sts, or a 1st , 2nd, and 3rd. Congrats.

Didn't tell anyone he was up for trade, Hum just made an offer. I agree there was a problem somewhere and it could well have been me, but I did try a few different strategies with him. Thank you very much.

Sorry you are pulled into this. IF that trade was with anybody but me, this would never have been an issue.

Just me, but for me this games is very time consuming. I try to watch every game, not just my own. And, like I said, that let me see you prepping Davenport. A great strategy by the way and not tanking. if not in contention get younger guys experience. I have been very lucky as the talent in the league is unusually high. I am not just throwing BS, when I say ABE is programed to make some underperform, it is not a large % but was implemented in an attempt to mimic the real game. There is no way to identify these players but stats and discussion. I do not know by any means it applies to Brown or I would not take a chance.

You would have offered two #1's or a #1, #2, #3 for QB Brown?
And yet, you never initiated a trade offer...
There's only two answers to any trade offer: yes and no.

I have seen uncountable numbers of trades when I thought, DAMN IT, I think I could have given a better offer. Actually, my initial offer was not accepted in this deal. I consider every player in the league tradable at one point or another and like Ironman says it is yes or no.

I also only leave trades up just so long. It is natural for some people to not want to say no, even if they are not interested in the trade, so they tend to let them sit.
For this reason, I pull the trade down if it has been read and sitting for awhile.

I would have said the same about any other owner making that trade because it was unfair.

I had no interest because like I said, I didn't know he could be had. I personally would never trade a QB like that with that many years left, and if I did it would have to be for a much better offer than what Dallas made.

Youth made a good point about the bad drafts in the other thread, and this past draft was probably the worst yet, which devalues that last place 1st round pick from this past year even more.

Brown has been nothing special in his first half of game 1. I hope he wakes up in the 2nd half.

If he don't, I am going back to mitchell and you can offer me those two 1st for him.

I made a trade offer to NASH for the pick #1 in the latest draft and was declined.
I thought I made a good offer, but got beat out by WASH.

NASH received 3 players who currently don't start, with one being a backup QB, one a backup T and an RB that I originally drafted who is now on the inactive list. NASH also received a #1 and #2 of WASH's (which will be low because WASH will win his division and make the playoffs again) and a second #2.
That's the way it goes.
But I DID make an offer.
...It's yes... or no.

I'm not sure how that's relevant but ok.
