How does WAS get to keep the ball after I block his FG attempt? Once the ball is kicked, possession changes!

If it passes the line of scrimmage then only the defense can recover.

I may be wrong, but from what I understand if the blocked field goal dose not pass the line of scrimmage then either team can return it and since it was on first down and Washington recovered then they keep the ball.If it passes the line of scrimmage then only the defense can recover.

I have no idea whether it should have been a valid play. Just glad it didnt happen in the playoffs. Or actually...
