Team Advice in Wally Berger

I recently acquired the Atlanta team in the WBL. I need some advice.... I have a very good team, unfortunately, not good enough to overtake the two teams in my division that are ahead of me.
I have maybe 3 seasons to make a run & to try and acquire additional assets..or trade off my better players while I can still get good value and start my rebuild. I am leaning towards rebuild. Thanks for any & all advice. Soggy

If it's me, I start the rebuild. You'll need to drop to the bottom and collect as many top picks as possible to compete with Montreal and St. Louis. At least with you getting a top 4 pick every season for a few years, that's one less team that can trade away their top 4 pick to Montreal.
You have some really good assets like Bow and Macon that should fetch a great price, especially Macon. That last off-season seems to have turned him into a star vs. RHP. Mihalic is your only blue chip prospect, and he should be able to get a ton of innings (once you promote him) without winning you too many games in the process. I could see him developing into a very good, if not great, A overall pitcher.

Why do people keep joining this league? I thought you guys were banned from trading anyway?
You haven't a prayer of catching STL and even less chance of competing with MON. the problem is that both are also still set for reasonably long runs, so even if you rebuild you're likely still screwed. But you're definitely screwed if you don't, so give it your best shot. WAS is probably your best bet. He seems to be the one team with a legit shot, a need to add and prospects worth trading for. So if admin has lost their senses and let you guys trade again I'd start there.
I'd also strongly suggest using advice on any offers. Strange things happen in that league. Don't get taken by the predators.

And in other news, the second, larger wbl advice thread has been deleted. Sigh.

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
You made some very good points BK, the truth hurts and I suspect that's why it was taken down or a league mate asked for it to be taken down because trades shouldn't be happening behind the scenes and they didn't want to get in trouble with admin. Either way its pretty weak to delete a thread that you asked for help in.

since it was a "would it be good" question. not a save me from doing the stupid thing which every WBL trade thread becomes, I deleted it. I was not told by anyone to take it down. what is lame is the intense dislike for certain owners.

I don't dislike any person on this site and if you are referring to bahston its not dislike I just don't respect his game and think he should join a big boy league where he couldn't get away with his predatory trade offers. I actually have invited him to join the JBL several times and he's declined. It's always about the competition and if you want to claim to be the best you have to beat the best.
