Do we want to continue this with the new minor league system? Even though you can't trade "5 CPs" or "3CPs", it is still possible.
An owner would after to have a minor leaguer in their #14 door for x amount of seasons, or in their #14 or 12 spot.
What's everyone else's opinion on this matter?

This league has always been very active when it comes to trading CPs. Myself being chief among them, especially when it comes to blowing up my team and building for the future.Do we want to continue this with the new minor league system? This is only going to be my 2nd full yr. in the league so I've never traded CP's in it. But I am a definite Yes for allowing the trading of them. There would need to be a post on the message board saying X is trading 15 CP's to Y for 1970(or whatever year it is) season with both owners confirming it.

I'm all for it, if management would be OK with it. It seems to me that it would let you narrow down exactly what a player is worth. If you want 10 and I offer 6, a compromise could be 8, etc. I love the negotiations to get the best deal for both owners. I really don't understand the reasoning that the new system would eliminate the need or possibility of making CP trading unnecessary. It's just another tool to use. KW

I am okay with it. I would just add the fact that you have to make sure whomever you are doing the deal with is signed up for the next two or three seasons if you are trading two or three seasons of a #14 ranking. I saw it go sideways like that a few years ago. Maybe have the Commish confirm this when the trade is agreed upon to make sure all is kosher. My 2 cents.

Chris has outlawed all CP trades in Dynasty leagues as of going to System 5. He is done with the complaints about them and he can't figure how to code them into the game. They are done and he will reverse any trade involving them. PERIOD. He has spoken about this on the Forums.

That is why I have always suggested a 5th round pick, from whenever the final year of the CPs end, should accompany the deal to make sure that owner is signed up to see the deal through.Originally posted by joedirt

I'll go with the majority. I don't do them personally but I don't mind others doing them if everything is fair...

seems like there could potentially be alot of tracking responsibility on someone, including notifying all new incoming owners of OUR rule prior to them coming on board. Could be fun to have that capability....but then again....maybe not.

I'm thinking we would have to go private to make any changes, but then we could do alot of different changes. Like the MountainKing says, good and bad. A 24 team league might not have an easy time with that. KW

Since subscription seems to be the only way to go private, I would leave the league if you decided to go private. I don't like having to remember when the paypal pays and having to pay with a month to go in the season. I would prefer term if allowed. Also you then have to decide if you want variable development , Yes with System 3 or 5, no with anything else. And if you only are really doing it so you can trade CP's, then I would step aside as I find them to be a headache.

Michael it appears according to another post earlier on this thread that we can't trade CP's under the new system even if we wanted to. I am now the Commissioner of one of the Speed Leagues(the MML) so I will check with Admin to find out if it is indeed not allowed. If so this discussion is a moot point.Pages: 1
