B- endurance starting pitchers going down to C+ endurance

I've seen a few of my starting pitchers with B- endurance go down to C+ endurance after a season of pitching in the bullpen, and I don't understand why that happens. Can anybody explain this?

If they are an SP on their card they must appear in "more than 25%" of their appearances as a starter or risk losing 5 points of endurance in the off season, note it must be 25% +1 so a pitcher who makes 60 appearances would have to start 16.
